Beatles, Pink Floyd, Stones........then the rest. We can all agree to disagree, but can you imagine in 40 or 50yrs anyone will outdo the current top 5 whatever your personal choice is?
Sure Beatles is rock, but it is more hugely successful and known as a pop band. Puttng it as the #1 on a classic rock ranking is honestly stupid. A band like Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd would have made much more sense for the spot.
I don't think so. I would say some of their songs, especially the ones from their early era, are pop/rock, not only pop. If you mean they're popular well, they are, just as all these bands.
@@abandonedchannel1159 Yes but I would say that they aren't predominantly rock, so they shouldn't be considered a rock *band* per se. Just like Led Zeppelin had a lot of folk and blues elements in some of their songs, but they are considered a rock band. You wouldn't call Led Zeppelin a reggae band just because of D'yer Mak'er. I just found it illogical that the Beatles would even be on this list, let alone considered #1.
@@ronh.798 All the bands I listed are the greatest rock bands, unlike for example Heart, Doobie Brothers, Deff Leppard, The Cars, Jorney, Kansas, Bon Jovi, King Crimson, Boston, Steely Dan, Velvet Undeground, Cream, Police, Beach Boys , the Doors… who are just not bad bands and only made the list through the eyes of an American. It's hard to imagine in classic rock such as Uriah Heep vs Heart, Grand Funk Railroad vs Beach Boys... It's also very controversial how many of the greatest albums Whitesnake vs Police, Nazareth vs Cream, Status Quo vs Boston released for example... it's just ridiculous to compare. Never do reviews like this again, otherwise you will get the impression that you just haven't heard real rock bands.

I always liked Sweet. Yeah, I know they had some bubble gum tunes in their career, but when you listen to Desolation Boulevard (US version), Give us a wink and Off the record, for me, just fantastic songs, great playing and production.
The only thing I would really disagree here is Rush because, while I love the band, this is 'the greatest' of all time which in my mind sort of implies that its unobjective but Rush is a fairly acquired taste I know a lot of people who dont like Rush
Maybe bands like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aerosmith and Heart belongs more to a 80s list! In their place I would put Grand Funk, Blue Cheer, The Guess Who, Free, Nazareth, Badfinger, and so many others great underrated 60s bands 🤷🏻♂️
Hmmmm no Vanilla Fudge, Thin Lizzy, Mothers of Invention, James Gang, Montrose, Santana, Roxy Music, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Grand Funk Railroad, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jefferson Airplane, Faces, Ten Years After, Badfinger, Moody Blues, Mountain, Traffic, Free, Bad Company, Big Bother & the Holding Company, Bachman Turner Overdrive or The Guess Who?
Depends on the definition of Classic- I’d argue that as time passes the general understanding of what is Classic Rock expands to include more recent decades- this list is mostly covering the 60’s and 70’s, 2 or 3 from the 80’s - but I’d say from the 70’s, the Clash and Sex Pistols should not be forgotten- I’d add or replace some of the 80’s ones - 100% sure there should not be a selection of greatest bands of the 80’s without Metallica, Motley Crue and Guns N’ Roses . From the 90’s - we know Nirvana must be there, probably Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Oasis, Alice In Chains, Radiohead, Rage against the machine- Green Day even- , Linkin Park, Foo Fighters and System of a Down from the 2000’s.
I’d argue that every new subgenre, wave or stage in rock history was trying to rebel against something, someone, especially the previous trends - but in doing so- they and their influence became mainstream and with time they have become themselves part of what is considered classic rock- which I think is a very open term to describe good and influential rock music from past decades. I think one of the main reasons Rock music in general has been not popular in decades is because youth has nothing to rebel against since the 2000s -generally speaking- for decades parents, teachers, the man, etc. were the enemy to rebel against - Since kids a raised getting everything they want - with no opposition, barely any parenting - always get their way - What would rebel against? What would be reason to liking a music genre that is about rebellion ?

U can't judge queen fans off 1 person you know. I love queen yet I'm not at all like this person u know clearly
@@urla_180 nah fool telling someone to shut up is not proper defense 💀. And honestly you're making everyone's point about Queen fans still stand about the absolute bullshit attitude you are displaying.
Strange mix: A third of the bands mentioned definitely didn't play classic rock.
Strange order: Famous bands at the bottom, almost unknown actors/names in the top 20
You missed Free, Small Faces, Faces, Nazareth, Roxy Music, T. Rex, Slade and 10 Years After.
Roxy Music were way ahead of their time.
Bad Company was a great band too.
Beatles, Pink Floyd, Stones........then the rest. We can all agree to disagree, but can you imagine in 40 or 50yrs anyone will outdo the current top 5 whatever your personal choice is?
Fine job, Sir, and thank you 😎
If the Police is on this list then Talking Heads could be as well. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers never seem to make these kind of lists either
Very great video, although I'd put Chicago, The Kinks and especially Supertramp higher on the list.
Te Falto B-52s, Madness, Bachman Turner Ovedrive, T.Rex, Slade, Styx, Asia, Sweet, etc
Beatles Great Band!
Was this your personal favourite rock bands or a universal top 50?
Little John 🥺
Even though the beatles got the no.1 spot , We can say that the beatles is so underrated these days.
This channel uploaded a video of the most popular classic artists on Spotify. The Beatles were 2nd place just behind Queen.
The Beatles have 26 million monthly listeners and are 113th in the world on Spotify right now.
tf are you smokin bro?
My top 3
3. The animals
2. ACDC
1. The Rolling Stones
Where is Three Dog Night? 18 straight top 20 hits isn't enough?
5 best bands
5: Rolling Stones
4: Jimi Hendrix Experience
3:Queen
2: The Beatles
1: The Doors
AC/DC, Van Halen and Queen ranked embarrassingly high.
Van Halen and AC/DC were a bit more influential than they seem, but they were very high yes.
Queen, я бы поставила на 3 место!! Они это заработали! Лучшие мировые хиты по популярности и узнаваемость!
They are no where as good as Pink Floyd Or The Rolling Stones
@@cancerandaids3822 На вкус и цвет, товарищей нет! QUEEN - номер один!!!!

Kinks soo underrated
Led zeppelin no 1
I miss The Byrds and Buffalo Springfield. I love the Stones but I think The Kinks were better.
I agree about Buffalo Springfield.
Rainbow, Uriah Heep, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Sweet, Slade, Toto, Wishbone Ash, Lucifer’s Friend, Scorpions, Ted Nugent, Grand Funk Railroad, Ronnie Montrose and Gamma, Gary Moore, Billy Idol, Bad Company, Foreigner, Alice Cooper, Whitesnake, Camel, Coldplay, Cinderella, David Bowie, Dr.Feelgood, Fish and Marillion, Free, Golden Earring, Great White, Hawkwind, INXS, Kingdom Come, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, Nazareth, R.E.M., Sammy Hagar, Simple Minds, Shocking Blue, Spooky Tooth, Suzi Quatro, T.Rex, Tears For Fears, Alan Parson’s Project, The Moody Blues, Twisted Sister, Vanilla Fudge, Status Quo, Rammstein, Queensryche, Dream Theater, Jeff Healey, Elton John, Bee Gees, Asia, Accept, ABBA, Thin Lizzy…
Most of those are not fitting the category. I love Rammstein but hardly classic rock. List is for 50, not 500.
@@abzstr Sorry, that is just one person's opinion.
@@ronh.798 Are you serious? This music exist for ages. Billions of people listen to it. It is necessary not to make lists of your own, but to ask all people.

Led Zeppelin #1 Classic Rock Band
Big ELP fan here I know they’re not for everyone’s taste but they were one of the top selling artists of the 70s
Who else knew the Beatles would be number one??
Kind of a no brainer really
Amazes me that you managed to find a clip of The Yardbirds performing without a guitar to be seen
My list:
The Velvet Underground
The Beatles
Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band
Swans
Virus
This Heat
Pescado Rabioso
Ufff pescado rabioso tremendo banda
based
Never heard of half of them.
En qué se basa para hacer está lista, porque objetivamente King crimson, TVU, Beach Boys deberían estar en un top 5 incluso 10
the kinks at 45?
ELO AT NO. 21?! NICE!
☝🏻😎
No Jefferson Airplane/Starship, no Emerson Lake & Palmer?
I always liked Sweet. Yeah, I know they had some bubble gum tunes in their career, but when you listen to Desolation Boulevard (US version), Give us a wink and Off the record, for me, just fantastic songs, great playing and production.
I started listening to Yes yesterday and I say how fantastic it is
I respect other opinions, but those who say that Beatles shouldn't be number one are uneducated
I respect other opinions, but those who say that Beatles are more talented than Led Zeppelin are highly uneducated
00:56 Jethro Tull all day!
Great list and the #1 is right on!:)
why the hell is Alice Cooper always forgotten
since Creedence clearwater revival are better than Deep purple and iron maiden
Great list. The who at 9 is rough.
Agree they should have been higher. As should the Allman Brothers.
No Bruce????????
Thank God!
@@petesplacestuff4781 What do you have against him?
What? Guns n' Roses, Metallica, Scorpions...😮
The Rolling Stones is the One !
Aerosmith's first album was in 1973. Definitely not just an 80s band
yes apart from aerosmith
Aerosmiths peak was in the 70s
Blue Cheer was a one hit wonder. But I agree that Free should be on the list, as well as Lizzy.
@@aggelostzimagiorgis So was Heart.
rush at 7 i love this video
Where is Nirvana??
In the description he says that he is not including any bands beyond the mid 80s. Had he expanded it to the early 90s they would have been a included
No band will ever top the Beatles that’s a fact.
Guns and roses forever!
Absolutely!!!!! You got that right!!!!
where is guns n' roses, metallica?
Ratt, The Scorpions, or Dokken wasn't even mentioned!! You left three great bands off your list!!
Kudos for including Steely Dan.
My favourite are the Scorpions! ❤
It's Missing Thin Lizzy
Almost perfect list
Hmmmm no Vanilla Fudge, Thin Lizzy, Mothers of Invention, James Gang, Montrose, Santana, Roxy Music, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Grand Funk Railroad, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jefferson Airplane, Faces, Ten Years After, Badfinger, Moody Blues, Mountain, Traffic, Free, Bad Company, Big Bother & the Holding Company, Bachman Turner Overdrive or The Guess Who?
Solid list 💪🏼 fella!
I enter to comment same thing and we coincide in 4 but I don’t see Blue Cheer and Nazareth in your list! 🤷🏻♂️
You listed a bunch of my favorites!
@dftns Hey, thanks man! I somehow forgot about Nazareth and Blue Cheer.
@Kevy Nova 2 of my other favorites are UK and The Firm but they only did 2 studio albums each, so…🤷🏻♂️
I've already mentioned some of those. I forgot Traffic and the Springfield.
Rainbow? Whitesnake?
He visto y leído un montón de listas y tops de este estilo y el resultado siempre es el mismo, The Beatles en primer lugar 💪 como debe ser
Punk bands were a rebellion against classic rock.
