Dave, due to COVID-19 ,my church, Mount Pleasant Baptist in Virginia, has been on lock down for several weeks now. Our minister is streaming sermons, but I also miss my Sunday School group meetings. Both are fantastic, but the SS group allows for a more in depth analysis of a given topic. Soooo ... our teacher and several others suggested we meet online using Zoom. Hummm, interesting. Years ago I had used Skype and found it functional, and not bad actually, though I had never tried involving a group. So, when our teacher suggested Zoom, my initial thought was, "Eh ... it's probably more trouble than it's worth. What with setup and configuration and all." BUT ... I felt drawn to checking it out and I am so very, VERY glad I did. From the looks of it, I never could have been more wrong in my initial apprehension ... especially after having viewed this video. AND you're a Believer, too? PTL! Isn't it interesting how He guides us even when we can't always see where we're going? So anyway, I will most certainly check out Zoom, and your links in particular. May our Lord bless you exceedingly in all your endeavors. Sincerely, Bill Ogburn

Great video!! Just found your channel yesterday. Blessings to you for your heart and ministry. The church needs people like you to pull us out of old habits and insecurities of trying new things ( speaking for myself) and try new areas of reaching, engaging and building community! ❤️
Thanks for the video. I have several questions: 1) I think you may have answered this in part by what you had on the screen, but can you do a Zoom call that shows both a PowerPoint and a seminar leader at the same time? 2) I need to set up a seminar for about 50 people (someone else will be leading the seminar). It is important that this first time goes well. Is it easy to run a seminar like that? 3) Are there good tutorials for that? 4) Do you offer tutorials? 5) Is there someone who can be available to help run the first meeting? Thanks.
"easy" is a very subjective term - LOL. For me, who's practiced a lot, yea, it's easy. - That's the key - practice. Yes you can do the ppt. Terrific video. You couldn't hear Jordan when he joined the meeting. Can you show me what Jorden did to turn on the sound. I had this problem yesterday in a Room meeting and there was no time to play with settings. Thank you.
They need to unmute themselves. Everyone has control in their app whether to have audio and or video. turned on. The host can choose to mute anyone / everyone .
Love the video. At about the 15:30 mark of video you talk about configuring video to record to separate audio tracks so you can clean up the audio for crisper playback. Also talk about how when you play it, it switches cameras based on who is talking. Can you show us/tell me how/what configuration you used for that please?
Under "My Meeting Settings" / Recording. There's some settings. I also record locally and not in the cloud. One thing I noticed is that to save space, it pauses the individual audio recording until that person is speaking. For editing later that causes a sync issue that you have to fix manually. Since it's good about adjusting the audio levels automatically, I generally don't worry about editing each person separately and just edit the zoom audio track like I would any other.
Yes - you'll want to make sure that it can put out clean HDMI signals (no display overlays) and you'll want to make sure that the capture device you use, can be seen as a webcam. Most can. There's a free plan. It's great for 1:1 meetings. It has a 45-minute group meeting limit - so you'll have to start a new one after 45 mins. I do recommend the Pro Plan - it's only $15 a month and lets you record in the cloud or locally. One thing I like doing is recording locally, so that I can trim it and publish it, or send it to the people who were in the meeting. Very helpful for 1:1 coaching and great for group meetings. @Michael Yen Only the host needs to have a pro account, if they want to more than 45 minutes of meeting time without having to restart the meeting (and lose participants). Not sure. Go to your computer and install it to your phone from the play store. Also, make sure you're on wifi when you do to remove any cell or LTE issues / congestion.
You don't. Zoom is meeting software. It will automatically switch to the person who is speaking, or you can manually pin them accordingly as they speak.
I have set up two separate groups - committee and other one as Club members. I cant see how to set up for a meeting for the committee group only using the group name "committee" to automatically invite all at once?
I believe the groups are for breakout meetings... Used more for their Zoom Rooms - like in a conference room setting. Are you using the Business or Enterprise versions? Are you trying to host meetings for certain attendees? Like host one meeting for these 10 people. Then host another meeting for these 15 other people. Something like a school teacher hosting a meeting for her Algebra class, then hosting another for her Trig class? -Dave
I run a camera club with a committee of 7 persons. I want to easily host the committee members. I want also to meet & talk to the 55 members of the club separately as another different group hosting. I have the Pro subscription.@@ChurchMediaCreators
When you share screen, the participants minimize so you can see more of the screen. There should still be a zoom toolbar at the top of the screen. When you exit the share screen the zoom window will return to normal. - Justin
Thanks for the great video! I was wondering if I buy the package (one host, about 16 dollars per month) can I switch host over to another participant during the meeting and still not have to worry about the 40 minute time limit?
I am a ZOOM pro user and we did very often to use one host and switch host to another attendee while I can still monitor the meeting. If you are paid user you don't have the 40 minutes constraint.
Hi, I was actually introduced to this App via a bible study! When I did it I was texted a code to enter the chat after I downloaded the App. How do I do that?
well, you can check Zoom's privacy policy I'm sure. As far as you're concerned, I'd simply assure them that you aren't sharing their info, like normal. If you need to record your meeetings with them, be sure to record it locally, so it's not in the cloud, and I'd also send them a copy of the recording and chat transcript if you're using chat for sending links and such.
I'm sorry, I don't really understand your question fully.... How do you turn on the video? Which? The youtube video you're commenting on? The your webcam in a zoom session? Go to Zoom.us, set up an account, download and install Zoom and then start a call "with video". Be sure you have your webcam connected ;) Does that help? - Dave
Hi! What setting do I need to change for my participants to appear on my video recording. I see them when we chat. But they don't appear on my converted video file. It only shows me. Can you give me step by step instructions? Thanks!
Hi. That happens when you activate one manually (pin it). So if you choose to unpin, it should be good. Also, you can do what I do when I'm doing our group coaching, I manually select the person asking the question, then go back and forth manually - this works good for me because some folks don't mute, and if they sneeze, it activates them... ;) -Dave
@@davis4107 I thought they only updated the numbers for streaming,...well that is annoying, I'm not sure I can pull u-turn and re-direct my churches leadership after getting them up and running today.

Hundreds if not thousands.

Lol he wanted to slap Jordan every time he interrupted
What is the make and model of the microphone you're using?
Hi. For our live show, I'm using a Behringer XM 8500 - it's their version of the SM-58. I'm running in in to a DBX 266XS compressor / limiter
What software do you use to record this webinar?
How do you get the two people in Zoom to show up side by side?
You don't. Zoom is meeting software. It will automatically switch to the person who is speaking, or you can manually pin them accordingly as they speak.
Great video guys!
Thanks so much!
Is it free as have interview via zoom re teaching online via the same platform will it still be free
If I want to go with the free version, how quickly can I generate a new number, get it to the participants and start a new session?
Just use your personal meeting id. Email it to them and tell them when it cuts off, to open the email and click the link again.
why when I share screen, I lose the zoom window? I can no longer see participants. Is this exclusive to Zoom Pro?
When you share screen, the participants minimize so you can see more of the screen. There should still be a zoom toolbar at the top of the screen. When you exit the share screen the zoom window will return to normal. - Justin
Oh you have explained in video thank you
Glad to have helped :D
Let me know how you're doing with it.
wow, like your video very much about ZOOM, we are ZOOM suppliers for the color PTZ cameras, will we have the chance of cooperation ?
Thanks for the great video! I was wondering if I buy the package (one host, about 16 dollars per month) can I switch host over to another participant during the meeting and still not have to worry about the 40 minute time limit?
I believe so. Best to just try it.
I am a ZOOM pro user and we did very often to use one host and switch host to another attendee while I can still monitor the meeting. If you are paid user you don't have the 40 minutes constraint.
How do you invite people to a meeting? Via email or text or via the zoom app? Thanks
Yup.
@@ChurchMediaCreators Sorry... which one? Thanks
All
@@ChurchMediaCreators Thank you very much.
@@ChurchMediaCreators on the $14.99 plan with the ad on of 3 hosts. Can you schedule 3 meetings at the same time? Do they all have the same ID?
Up to 100 video chat can be done on Facebook messenger as well without limits
I am not techie, did you make the video in IMovie then transfer it to UA-cam
It was recorded via zoom and Screenflow (like Camtasia).
Hi, I was actually introduced to this App via a bible study! When I did it I was texted a code to enter the chat after I downloaded the App. How do I do that?
Stylers Panel good question. I'll figure out out and show you. Traveling today tho.
Okay,! As, I was playing around with it I noticed that actually it wasn't a code. It was just the group ID that given when you download the App
Glad to hear you got it solved! How are you liking Zoom?
I want to join a meeting
Host one ;)
How can I assure clients - when we are using this software for video conferencing - that it is confidential and secure
well, you can check Zoom's privacy policy I'm sure.
As far as you're concerned, I'd simply assure them that you aren't sharing their info, like normal. If you need to record your meeetings with them, be sure to record it locally, so it's not in the cloud, and I'd also send them a copy of the recording and chat transcript if you're using chat for sending links and such.
🔥 video man thanks
good
quel screen shot utilise tu?
I usually use either Screen Flow, Camtasia or Loom.

I don't understand what you're trying to say.
Guten Tag alles auf Netzverbildungen
how do i turn on the video please??
I'm sorry, I don't really understand your question fully.... How do you turn on the video? Which? The youtube video you're commenting on? The your webcam in a zoom session?
Go to Zoom.us, set up an account, download and install Zoom and then start a call "with video". Be sure you have your webcam connected ;)
Does that help? - Dave
by wilo the deaf guy LOL
what,what
what, what did you say? can,t hear you!!
Hi
Thank you!
You're welcome! How are you using Zoom? -Dave
Cutting Jordan off at the end was both rude and hilarious lol
HA! I forgot that I didn't trim that last little bit off. LOL -Dave
Also, you can do what I do when I'm doing our group coaching, I manually select the person asking the question, then go back and forth manually - this works good for me because some folks don't mute, and if they sneeze, it activates them... ;)

@@ChurchMediaCreators Thanks Dave!

My church considered discord (because I was making the decision and I already use it), but the 10 user video call limit was too few for us.
@@CraigTaylor86 they updated it to 30 per call due to school closings
@@davis4107 I thought they only updated the numbers for streaming,...well that is annoying, I'm not sure I can pull u-turn and re-direct my churches leadership after getting them up and running today.
@Kevin Chen Thats just a marketing thing for a particular target audience, that does not determine the validity or quality of the software. Just because something is marketed for a particular purpose does not mean thats what you have to use it for.
