In December 2022 I got through all 3 stories of SA2 for the first time ever and Shadow became my second favorite character from the Sonic franchise beside Sonic himself, then last summer Silver joined them as my third favorite Sonic character, so I'm very pleased that Shadow will play a big role in the third movie. It's been a major dream come true that the banger "Live & learn" song has been confirmed to be in it! Please may Shadow's official movie VA get confirmed by Paramount at CinemaCon so that we won't have to wait any longer for that big reveal to finally happen! I hope Silver comes into the SCU soon. If Paramount replaces the elements of Sonic 06 that shouldn't have been in that game's story plot with elements that would be better and make sense in the movies then an adaption of that game would be an entertaining one. I understand that the mistakes that were made during the developement of that game prevented it from being as good as it could have been. I also hope that the Sonic 3 story plot is more true to the SA2 source material by having Shadow be the emotionally sympathetic antagonist that he was in that game instead of being the swearing and gunshooting edgeloard that he was behaving like in almost every part of his own game and had gotten mistaken to be for too many years after that! He had better characterization in SA2, Heroes, and 06, and I like many other people want that more well written version of him to return in this upcoming third movie and in any other future Sonic productions that he will be in.
