I couldn’t imagine trying to remember all that and then going out to the baler and checking all of it and knowing how from memory. You’d be watching me run in and out watching the video then checking the baler, lol! One thing I noted was there was no mention of the No. 47 baler. I wonder why that would be. Thanks for another interesting and fun to watch IH video!

Glad you enjoyed! I'm going to guess the 37/47 were not out yet. The 46 & 37/47 are the same creature, so the info here would apply equally. The knotter service manual in the description would help differentiate between them.... if there are any differences. I don't know where my copy is at the moment or I'd cheat & look.
Well, I'm off to start copying another film or two. Not sure if I want to continue with balers or switch up to something else. What do you think? I have a few tractor ones yet. Some on combines. Planters. Couple more on maintenance & a bunch of other ones. I have one I'm saving for last as the record is really bad, but would be the icing on the cake when done.

It is neat! I'd like to locate a gauge. Would be nice to get some copies out to people that still own an IH baler.

@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin Hmmmm.... not a bad idea. There have been a few IH balers at the auctions near here this past year, so they are around. Renting myself out as a baler mechanic with a gauge might not be a bad idea. Lord knows I've had mine apart a few times. Always kept after it with no problems. Been through every inch of that machine, had the knotters torn down to the last nut a few times trying to figure out why it didn't work. Never did figure it out. Something was slightly out of time, no idea what. I parked the darned thing, bought another baler, used that for a few years until I moved. Came back, thought I wasn't going to get back into hay so I sold the other baler. In the fall of 2019, I needed something to attach to the PTO on my 560 so I could troubleshoot it. Used the old 47 to do the job. Figured out what I needed & just for trix & grins I tripped the knotter on the baler. The sun of a gun worked! Noooo idea what happened. I've been joking that it was magical baler gnomes that fixed it while it was put away. I took that as a Sign that I should get back into haying. That I did in 2020 & had one of the best years as long as I've been making hay. Been mighty thankful. A bit perplexed, but thankful. Sorry to ramble. It's just one of those things.

I wish I had one of those gauges 60 years ago, local IH dealer must not have known about them or he wanted to keep it a secret so he would receive more service calls.

Thanks for signing on & welcome to my channel! The dealers keeping the gauge a secret to keep the customers coming in was my thought, too. It would be nice to run across one. I'll have to check with my local Kubota dealer. They were IH for many years & I would think they might have one hiding somewhere as they never tossed out any small tools.
