Lyrics:
Men huddling and shouting in the dark
Crying out for courage, for a spark
Illuminate the glass
Reflect the band of brothers as we are, as we are
Who do we have to eat?
Who do we have to kill?
To get our foot in the doorway of the house at the top of the hill?
High on the fumes of petrichor
Why, it feels like mercury on the western shore
I died, I swear, when the ABC said we’re going to war
I really believed we wouldn’t fight no more, I
Who do we have to eat?
Who do we have to kill?
To get our foot in the doorway of the house at the top of the hill?
I caught some sleep on Swanston Street, finished the Ferrero Rocher’s
and their bronze wings shivered in the wind and ash fluttered down to sleep in your hair
I found love as the paper curled
And hope sinks like a pearl
It's a light plumbing the dark at the edge of the world
The feeling that part 3 of the song generates, I don't know how to explain it, a sad nostalgia?, or simply a great nostalgia, a completely new feeling, difficult to explain, or am I Caught in a musical loop, where nostalgia invades and it is difficult to understand the wonderful feeling that the song gives, simply a total masterpiece.
I wasn’t convinced by 9 on my first listen, I love it now but that’s neither here nor there. Stung was an instant hit with me, been listening non stop since the release, looking forward to the next pond album and seeing you guys live soon
This album instantly reminded me of the old pond and i’m in love again
Jay on guitar will do that ❤
Man, the song came at random and got to me HARD, I actually stopped what I was doing just to listen. I feel like It's been a lifetime since I've last heard this type of vibe in a song, instant favourite!
If you haven't done so before, then I HIGHLY recommend checking out the rest of their work. I guarantee you'll continue to have that same type of feeling, as they're one of the most consistently great bands ever and are one of the few who, after ten whole albums, somehow continue to improve upon their craft.
The Weather literally stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it.
Hats off to these guys how they can continue to make new music that sounds nothing like the old stuff.
The Bell or whatever instrument that is sounds so menacing it’s great
3:41 - 4:30 i wanna scream this part at a concert sooo bad
also very mgmt'esque which is my fav band of all time
Damn, this song goes places! Well done!
Please, PLEASE Come to Chilee! 🔥🔥 and play this one. I beg you 🙏🏻
Yup! Been a Fan for many years. This is another POND Masterpiece.
Epic, this reminds me of Tarkus “clean the battlefield and let me see all the profits of our victory”.
Amazing connection and analogy
Reminds me of Monkey
A gift from the Heavens
The last 2:23 melted my fucking brain. Incredible
New Pond, aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!! Awesome
Thank you Pond, you never miss
friggin incredible
Do yourselves a favour and listen to parts 1-3 back to back. Absolutely brilliant. I've been a huge fan for years, and this latest album takes me back to when I first discovered them...
😊
A
1:56 sooooo good
Agreed
Lollapalooza Chile 2025 👀
Come to Chileeeeee
Just....thank u 4 your music🦘
Pond's new music has a very worthy inspiration from Bill Callahan "riding for a feeling" videoclip
Extremely cool new sonic energies shifting zones bro thanks for this wow
woah amazing
oh por dios, que belleza
❤
So many great transitions but 5:47 is especially tasty
Oh, parte tres... Interesante 👁️👄👁️
roxy music and pink floyd had a baby that they raised on marvin gaye.
Ooh I like this comment ❤
very nice. and it the trend of ~2+ min songs seems to be fizzling
Wtf
2 min songs aren't even songs
Epic!!!
Giving me serious Monkey vibes right now.. Tripitaka-ing my balls off during that outstanding outro!
seriously, how the world should change so this song get million views, and not most of these crapy songs ( not all offcourse ). Should it even change ?
It's not just music. It's an experience 🔥
True! I was fortunate to catch them in San Francisco at the Independent.... phenomenal show. The audience was theirs'!
Call it recency bias, but this might be Pond’s masterpiece. The moody vocals, unique time signature, the flute, the techno interlude, that ending. *chefs kiss*
Edge of the World Pt 1 is still pretty good
@@jvgranquist Of course. More than good even--Parts 1 and 2 are still phenomenal songs. The existence of this album in no way negates anything they've made before. It's _all_ great stuff regardless of how new or old it is. These guys just seem to be improving as time goes on; most bands tend to lose their spark by the time they reach their tenth album, if they ever even make it that far.
There is definitely a recency bias when it comes to this australian bands who sound all the same
The ending of this song has been stuck in my head since this came out
Oh yeah. This is god tier Pond

Ooft that flute sound is heaven
ken oaf!
this song just hits different than all their other stuff. reminds me of the feeling i got the first time i listened to of moons, birds and monsters by mgmt. what a ride
The ending section of Of Moons Birds & Monsters kinda has that vibe of the album Man It Feels Like Space Again, feel like in an alternate universe Pond made the song and had it on the album
Pond Yes Floyd Moody Beatles ELP ELO Mahavishnu Weather Report
POND just keep bringing it.... Thank you! We're seeing them in November and cannot wait!
Hell yeah, saw em a few days ago in Adelaide and they didn't disappoint, you're in for a treat
I was legit mindblown when I first heard this song, honestly this is my favorite song by them now, taking daisy's spot
Just 30 secs and already a great song!! Thank you, obrigado Pond!
This is a masterpiece 🥹🤌🏻
we are not worthy
Does this not remind anyone of shine on you crazy diamond into welcome to the machine? With the awesome techno interlude !
3:00 - 3:24 is the smoothest 24 seconds of sound i've heard for a long time.
Pond reduxing the pastoral sound of the old progressive rock acts like King Crimson then ending with their signature space rock madness. Hopefully they continue this suite with more parts.
Flute came in and I thought of caravan.
Classic prog rock + BBNG + indie overdrive
Just sounds so divine I love it
O UV ray is the best of the album, where's the video
