That big guy was definitely strong, but the unnecessary chest bouncing was hard to watch. He would appear plenty more impressive if he did clean and full paused reps like Long does.

@@ayda2876 Yea, it has to do with what you eat. I've gained a bit of weight and am lifting much heavier since I'm building a lot of muscle from lifting heavy and eating a lot of protein. That's why when big guys lose weight they lose a lot of strength because that muscle is the first thing targeted during weight loss even more so than the fat layers. That's why I'm genuinely impressed by fit natural bodybuilders who maintain the muscle/strength while having abs and being cut. Impressive since that's kind of not how the body likes to operate.

It's all relative. The big guy looks about 230-240lbs. Yet he's not moving those weights like you do. Also he looks pretty much at max there. Your strength to weight ratio is world class and it is that which astounds people.

No way in heck this dude is 230-240. I'm 248 and this guy looks like way heavier than me. I'd say he is at least 260 but would guess around 275. but i agree, its not impressive for guys our size to be in the 300's. But, benching that at 155 is why we all all subscribed to this channel. lol

What weight did you start out benching? I'm at 77.5kg hoping to get 100kg by the end of this year. I think 60kg was roughly my 1rm at the end of May this year but I've been training for a half marathon too coming up this week, so once that's over I will focus more on strength!

I did taekwondo when I was little too but if you actually want your kid to have PRACTICAL self-defense skills you should look into BJJ or MMA classes. Those karate/taekwondo classes do very little for self-defense, it's really just a sport.
