I love the triad of colours that they created... i just recently got into air brushing and these triads are a live saver.
I like Army Painter paints. I wondered how that "air brush" paint actually runs through the brush. Thank you for the review.
Hi! I can answer that- you can use it on brush with zero issues! I tested these with aibrush, normal brush and drybrush. All those usages works perfectly fine
This is the video I’ve been looking for. I’ve watched many videos that didn’t show the triads or how they worked. But this was great!
I’m so glad it found you then!! Hope it helped you some. I’ll probably go deeper into this at some point but the basics are covered here at least.
@@Groundeffected for sure. I’m new to airbrushing and trying to see how that layering works with that paint.
This is great! That note about the bottles 🍼 showing how to use them in conjunction with each other is awesome. I'm sorta a numb-nut throw stuff together and just go with it guy...lol. gonna have to look into this kit.... thanks again!
Yea I think that’s really cool. You can pick a colour you like and if you not really sure you can just look for the other two which will be your colour set for each space looks great. Although I do prefer pushing the contrast more than the triads they have but I still think it’s a great start!!
I bought the mega set, still playing around with it but I will use this range on my Warcraft Thrall model from Luftmensch studio.. Nice quality
I need to give these a go
You seen the latest space marine video. They are used solely with a brush in that video. Quite versatile paint
Not only did we print out the same model AND base, but the chainsword is warped in the same way too!
Oh wow that's impressive
Thanks for watching dude.
@@Groundeffected pleasure as always bro 👌
Thanks for this video!🎉
Thank you for watching my dude.
Great video, well made and very usefull. Thanks for posting
Thank you and thanks for watching.
@@Groundeffected Enjoy learning something new, happy that I found your channel. Keep up the good work, you make some amazing stuff 🙂
Dumb question:
I know nothing, looking for paints for my son’s 3D modelling resin printer.
1) are these paints pre- thinned?
If not- what’s the best thinner?
2) does a thinner prevent the airbrush from being clogged- if not what would be the best solution
Was a primer used in this video- am assuming before painting?
He’s a video game modeller who knows the colour wheel well, however some paints are not true to its colour, which means extra multiple coatings-- it looks like theses acrylic paints seem to be true to their colour.
I no nothing about the colour wheel. Would discuss this with him, however, would love to purchase this without him knowing --
Am assuming he’s using acrylic paint.
Any suggestion anyone could provide would help greatly!!!
Tried to research this on my own- out of my depth🤦🏽♀️
Great video! May I know what psi and airbrush needle size are you using?
0.5 needles and psi changes according to the paint or effect I’m looking for. If I want more paint and air I put it up if I want less I put it down
@@Groundeffected thanks for the reply. What psi are you using for base coating? As in, if you just want to cover the model in an even coat.
@@dominicteoh9475 to be honest I do t really look at psi I just go by feel. I like it to spray hard for base layers. So I go pretty high.
What paint rack are you using for the AP paints?
What about the airbrush in the video thumbnail?
Do you have a link to the Army Painter Air Mega Set? Happy to use it so you get a commission before i buy. Thank you for the GREAT and INFORMATIVE videos!!!
Not sure if this will work? amzn.to/3GcGeK8 thanks my dude!!
Great video! Question: Can you run their regular paints (non-air) paints through an airbrush?
Yes you can you just thin them though water works fine!
Did you print that miniature holder yourself? If so, where can I buy the file? Thanks
It was a free file in thingiverse just search mini holder or mini painting holder etc
@@Groundeffected Thanks! Your channel came up in my feed last week, and I've been binging ever since. Great content!
Badger makes a primer for 3d prints that will counteract "striation" and give a smoother painting surface...
I’ll look into that. Is that stynalrez?
What psi are you spraying at?
Between 15-25 psi depending on the task
Thx for the review that looked like a nice paint set but I was disappointed from my mega paint set. It work great but I had to print a mounting system on my sawsall whit steel balls to get them properly mix. Don’t get me wrong I use them all the time and they do the trick but I got a few Ak Interactive and i go whit them over AP whenever I have the opportunity. And for the price it’s great. With a thinner paint like these it shouldn’t be an issue. Your vids are as always awesome 😎 I have a question for you, do you use inks? and if you do I would love to see how you work with those! Just got a basic kit for an awesome Price and wondering what to do with it
I’ve used inks I use the army painter inks a lot for bases etc. I don’t shave a dedicated set though. As for the bottles of paint you do have to put metal balls in the standard set. But this set comes with balls in them already.
@@Groundeffected wait, you’re meant to put balls in the paints in the mega base set? I’ve got it and never knew that.
@@matthewcoleman8267 you dont have to but it will help down the line!
We obviously have the same addiction,
Yep. Bunch of addicts. Haha
Consider telling people your needle nozle size.
