Seriously, what do they have in common with Locke and Julie-Su, other than "beard" and "girl," respectively? Aside from this being the only substantial reference to Sonic Chronicles, the saddest part about this minigame is that, if you know what you’re doing, you go by so fast that you don’t have time to appreciate the music.
So, what I'm getting at is; a now frozen-over Nocturnus Gate (since this is the _Winter_ Olympics), from a now non-canon RPG (Thanks Ken Penders!) leads into the SPECIAL STAGE from Sonic Heroes?! Weird, but I ain't against it!
Look at the parts before and after the bobsledding begins. It visually resembles the aesthetics of the Nocturnus clan from the game. There are Echidna tribe statues surrounding the audience and this stage is called Nocturnus Gate at the beginning of the video.
Dream Bobsleigh from Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games = Nocturne from Sonic Chronicles (visuals at the very beginning and the very end) + Special Stage from Sonic Heroes (music and tunnel).
