I have been listening to Gordon LIghtfoot since 1975 and it is great to hear someone that sounds so much like him and will carry on with his music for other generations to hear. Thanks,
Hello from Iowa...USA. Love your arrangement of Don Quixote. What a tribute to GL!! So nice to hear someone sing Lightfoot so well. You sound much like him in the younger days. Both of you: Keep playing!
Yesterday its asad day for us brian rest in piece gordon lightfoot now i hope you gonne make new video's on UA-cam the music of gordon lightfoot never dies i wisch you all the best from Holland
This is maybe the most heartfelt cover of Mr. Lightfoot's masterwork that I've ever heard. I first bought a copy of Gord's Gold in the early '80's, and in these 30 years gone by I have listened to Don Quixote at least hundreds, if not thousands, of times, and never grow tired of it. Thanks for posting this, it will be added to my "favorites" list.
Whenever I feel down, depressed or stressed I listen this album, it centers me. Have to confess I listen to it a lot. Brian has a voice as close to Gord's that I've ever heard. Xlnt!!
Hey, Brian! GREAT JOB! Man you voice, timing, guitar work, ... , everything is excellent! What a perfect collaboration with Lenny. WONDERFUL! - I have listened to this SO often, truly incredibly great sound - great job, Brian! I saw this by another post, earlier, so, I am glad I found 776.... BEST to you! Rick in MT
I have had the good fortune to see Lightfoot in concert a few times. You guys have taken me back to Massey Hall in Toronto with Gord and the boys!! Awesome job of playing the songs. Thanks for sharing your talent with us...
I am a recent subscriber and I want you to know it has been an inspiration for me to hear you play this song. This elegant and friendly style deserves truly recognition. I will try to pass comment on all your works. Saludos from the land of Don Quixote.
well, i just settled in from a 4 hour drive along lake ontario and clicked on this WOW, my entire body's buzzing..happy new year, brian..THIS made me very happy
Brian....again a superb cover and the studio recordings are fantastic. Tremedous!! Hats off to you, Lenny and Bob...I am like a kid in a candy store when I see a new post from you...I very much look forward to your vid's....You have a gift my friend....Gordon Lightfoot is performing near where I live March 27...I have never seen him live so I am very excited to have the opportunity to go to his show.....Keep using the studio.......Nick
I have watched this video probably 20 times and every time I watch, it makes me want to take my guitar out and play. You guys make it look so easy and so cool.
Dude.....I literally did not believe it was you singing for the first minute. Your vocals are awesome. Phenomenal job on this covers. Guitars are bright and clears. Playing is spot on.
The quality of your performances is extraordinary and they sound even better now that your songs are in amazing stereo! It still boggles my mind how much you sound like GL. Please - keep them coming Brian & Co.!!! Best Regards, Mike
Love this version and both of you Brian and Lenny compliment each others picking and rhythm so well! You can play anywhere! I'm book marking this! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, You guys are awesome, I mean I never would have thought I would like someone else doing this song better than Gordon but you did it, this will be the song I always listen to from this day forward, I mean I am impressed. Thank you, thank you for putting on here for everyone, it is much appreciated at this end.
This is absolutely fantastic! I have just finished watching all 49 on your channel. All caught up now and looking forward to whatever you post next. I'm a huge fan!
Brian, your work is exceptional. I have always wished I had the ability to play. Gordon has been my absolute favorite musician for the past 42 years. You do his music proud. Much continued success.
It is Christmas Day and for some reason had an urge to search for a cover of this Gordon Lightfoot song and stumbled across this. I have to say this is a keeper and immediately in my top ten of music videos to listen to. This is such a beautiful musical piece gentlemen and so true to Gordon's musical intent. I see this is a 13 year old video so I hope you are still doing well and I wish you a Merry Christmas!
Brian, just winding down here after a long walk in the hills, and enjoying this 'un...... a fine job there you guys, and bass man , catchin' up slowly on your stuff. Jim
Brian, your work is simply extraordinary, I so wish you were still recording, both GLs and your own work. Astounding and "Thank you" for what you have posted. Best to you and your playing companions, John
I just noticed your comment more stuff coming soon, now that’s very exciting ! Looking forward to it. Your beautiful sound has brought me through surgery recovery since I first found you in May. I’m sure you have been told many times, your music is very special.
Brian...I am trying to find the words to describe how amazing you are. If Gordon had not already sang those songs, but it was you instead, I would have bought all of your cds. I just cannot get over how fantastic you sound. I keep coming back to YOU TUBE to hear YOU! I grew up listening to Gordon, probably saw him about 12 times and met him once. I was in high school, writing for a NY magazine and was invited backstage....unfortunately he had already starting "drinking" when I got there. I asked him about what chord he used in a certain section of "If You Could Read My Mind... I said "can I show you" and I kind of picked up his guitar. Everyone backstage stopped what they were doing and chose to watch me . I played a bit and then stopped where I was having a challenge...."what is the next chord"? He then told me "the only chord I know is a cord of wood".. I was so taken back, so embarrassed, so depressed (and so young) that "my hero" made me look foolish in front of so many people. Needless to say, I got over it, but the impact was great. It's been over 50 years and seems like yesterday.....but it never stopped me from appreciating his talent. Do you ever perform in Vegas? If so, I'll be there and I promise that if our paths should cross I will not ask you to show me how to play anything. You're the best!
@@7761864 It's not just your voice....your guitar playing is so right on target...and of course your back up and is terrific. Have you produced/recorded any of your own music.....I'd love to get copy
