Sir ..I'm a pediatrician..ur videos are very helpful .today I inserted a UVC and after saline flush there was discoloration of the surrounding skin in the baby ...I got an x ray , the catheter was too high ...was it because of that or any thing else ?

This should not happen. It may be malpositioned. Confirm it on USG.

1.Sir how do we know that umbilical cath position is heptaic vein/ portal vein prior to x ray confirmation.
2. While replacing position, should we change the total catheter ? Or just re position

Can't confirm without x-ray. You can use Doppler while inserting.
You have to remove it till 4 to 5 cm and then again reinsert with some rotation.
