    The little screw driver thing on the attached device can be used as a table angle stand. Insert in the little hole close to the antenna and then the radio can stand on the table, little angled.

      Wonderful advice. Thank-you. I actually was searching for where the key would attach to. I had it mistakenly attached to the slot on the battery cover. 😂

    I just bought this little marvel and I really like it. It's much better than expected. Good sound and quality controls.

    21:55 FYI The piece of plastic on the lanyard is meant to be a stand. It slides into the slot on the battery cover.

      Yep, though to be honest it's not a great stand but better than nothing I guess.

    I have had one for about a year or more... love it... my brother liked it so much, he bought a couple of them from Amazon.
    I bought a couple more when they came up for sale, one for a backup (or if my wife wants it), and the other for my other brother.
    I mainly use it for an MP3 player where I extract favorite songs from my iTunes library that I put on a single folder on my PC, that I copy to the micro SD card... make sure the micro SD card is FAT32 formatted for it to be recognized.
    The only thing I don't like is that it does not retain the last play mode setting when you turn it off and back on.
    I always use the Random (shuffle) mode, so I always have to reset that when I turn it back on.

    The plastic "key" on the tether is the STAND. There's a slot for it on the back.

    • @sjm4306
      @sjm4306  3 роки тому +1

      Yep, another commenter pointed that out as well. I still would've preferred a built in retractible stand, but the detatchable one is certainly better than nothing.

      @@sjm4306 I think the stand is a nice touch and some will find the lanyard useful too. However I don't use the stand or lanyard (& removed them) and if I want to set the radio at an angle I pull the Aerial out a little and push it back a bit and it doubles up as an adjustable stand.

    I have had this radio for at least 5 years and i fiinally figured out that square plastic piece on the lanyard is actually a removable plastic "kickstand" that plugs in a slot in the battery cover to hold the radio at an angle. Not as nice as a fold out kickstand but it is better than nothing. The sound quality and FM performane is very good AM would be a lot better if they had put in a longer ferrite AM antena. Anyone who wants to use this as an emegency radio should buy a USB battery bank if they don't already have one.

    I've had two of these for a few years, they're an excellent little unit for the price.
    Just don't expect them to have cutting edge SW reception.
    Don't buy this model though, you can get the Hanrongda K603 for less money and it's the same unit but with bluetooth !
    They're awesome as a little MP3 recorder and player. They play in stereo thru the headphone socket.
    The old Nokia phone battery lasts many hours, BUT, remove the battery from the unit if you're running it constantly from 5V power as the charge circuit has no cutoff.
    PS: Found your channel thru "This does not Compute".

    When recording onto an sd card does it overwrite or just stop when the storage is full?

  • @harrkev
    @harrkev 2 роки тому +3

    Also, if you plug the USB port into a computer, it becomes a USB speaker and a slow but functional micro SD card reader.

    • @airmojo
      @airmojo 8 місяців тому

      Having this feature makes it easier to modify the micro SD card (so you do not have to remove it)... I usually just keep a folder on my PC that I copy to the micro SD card... I always delete the folder on the micro SD card and copy the complete folder over so it has a fresh directory that keeps the order in sequence.

    The screen on my unit has gone blank. It lights up, but no textual info shows. It's too good to toss out, but too hard to use without the screen working and telling where you are with freqs and mp3 playbacks.
    If anyone knows a hack for jolting the screen back into functioning, post it here.
    ...greatly appreciate any suggestions....

      Hints that either the lcd failed or one of the internal supply rails that power it has failed. 1st step is to open it, inspect the board for visible damage and finally measure the voltages going to the lcd using a multimeter.

    I feel kinda dumb here.....I tried three of these and was pumped to get this because of the fact that it was a recorder as well as a player along with a radio. It sounds pretty good for its size and price. But on none of the units I tried did the Mode button work as it should have. It never went to the files It only worked for Hold when long pressed. Has anyone else had this happen,or was there something real simple I was doing wrong?

    U think 20 dollars is expensive for that?...No Way....it's an excellent little radio and very cheap with all those features. I challenge you to find a "branded" radio with all those features and that sounds as good for anywhere near the same price. You will fail!!

    • @sjm4306
      @sjm4306  3 роки тому

      To each their own, everyone is entitled to what they feel is the value of their dollar. My point was more that if all you need is an emergency radio then yes $20 and all the extra features that someone may not need may be overkill compared to say a 2nd hand sony analog radio that'll practically run forever from alkalines and outlive it's owner, but if you do get use out of everything this radio does then by all means it's a good deal for you.

      Ebay prices are insane, I just hit up a few thrift stores over the weekend and they had a few vintage pocket radios from reputable brands for ~$10 so deals can still be had ... just not likely from ebay lol.

      Unfortunately no, I figure because it's easy to do digital eq on a digital audio file, but doing it on an analog source like radio (while the tuning is digital the actual signal is still analog) would require an encoder to translate the audio in real time to digital and then perform the eq and then convert back to analog. Or it could just have a digitally configurable analog filter after the tuner but before amplification but both of these cases would add complexity and cost.
