  • These are my pick of the best Nautical UA-camrs who have inspired me throughout the time spent building my Pocketship. Do check them out, let me know what you think and also if you have any other nautical video channels to recommend.

Thank you, glad you find them useful. Merry Christmas to you from rainy but mild Blackpool in the north west UK 😊

Hi Alan, all good recommendations there. I especially like Toby's channel, as he is newish to sailing and is sharing his gained experience at a level I can understand as a 2 years behind you in the building stakes newbie. I am in the early stages of making an Ilur, so no guesses as to my favourite channel....

Hi Dale, glad you found the video useful. The Ilur looks very nice, I haven't come across it before. How did you decide on building it?

@@alan-hulme I had been learning about boatbuilding for a while and just before I started on a 10ft dinghy found a 13ft fibreglass one for next to nothing that I restored. I'd been watching Roger Barnes' vids for quite a while by then and loved his boat, and realised the plans were easy to get hold of, so went for it. I'm sure you know just how much room you need for building a boat, I do now, so the progress has been slow in order to not get blocked in by an error in sequence. I'm totally new to sailing, the Ilur looks pretty, not too complicated to sail and quite forgiving.
