I was able to visit Barcelona around this time last year. I was also able to visit the Montjuic Magic Fountain during the day. I was a bit sad because the fountain wasn't spouting water. Maybe it was down for maintenance or something. I will surely go back to Barcelona someday to witness this magic! Cheers!
My sister and I went last year. The videos are great but it's so much more beautiful in person. Our dad was stationed in Barcelona in the 60's and we were born in Spain. We always said we were going to see where we were born so we went last year and the Magic Fountain was a must stop for us. Our parents had pictures of it and I knew I just had to see it. It is really magnificent, worth to visit there and its free. If you want to sit a seat on the steps you need to go there early, so crowded. Dont stand to close to fountain to avoid the get wet. First check the days of the week and timetable , it is closed sometimes.

Among European cities, Barcelona is one of the best cities to visit. However the magic fountain is super overrated just like Park Guell is overrated. I think Hospital Sant Pau and Poble Espanyol were more worth visiting. What is truly remarkable about the magic fountain is to see tens of thousands of people to see an unimpressive fountain where the song and the water is not even properly coordinated
