We have long distance busses in the US, the cheaper version being Megabus, which is a uniquely horrible experience to endure especially if your ride is in the 10-13 hour range. It has a bathroom, which is always drenched in urine, and there's so little room that you are pressed tight against the person sitting next to you, with no leg room at all. It makes economy class in airplanes look like luxury. I wish we had sleep pod busses like this here, I'd happily pay $80 for that even without a toilet

OMG I highly recommend the yakiniku place at 1:13! The owner (at least, I think she was the owner o_o ) is so nice and the food was good! We actually went back there for our final lunch in Japan before going home. Osaka is so nice, Namba especially! I want to explore more of it next time!

It's strange, I've seen this bus line now in a few travel UA-cam videos. What is the company's reasoning behind eliminating the restroom? Would one or two fewer seats somehow be less profitable?
Would be a nightmare to get sick while traveling onboard this bus, for all passengers 😬

Basically, they try to stop frequently enough to make up for the lack of on-board toilet. *And* they can afford to turn off the lighting for 'sleep mode', since no one will be trying to navigate those narrow confines in the dark.

can you imagine how much nicer it would be to travel in the USA if we had seats like that in long haul bus plains or trains? Then agian you'd need a prybar and a bucket of lard to shove some of us Americans into a pod like that so maybe theres a reason we cant have nice things. That and those same people are the ones that complain about needing to pay for 2 seats as it is.
It would be hard to find a hotel room for that price. If I could overnight to my destination in a fairly comfortable pod like that I'd be more than happy to for that cost.

Is Japanese culture very, very polite or are you a standout?

Nope, the culture is very, very polite. It's how they manage to keep all the neat vending machines and transportation, while in the US they'd be trashed within the first day.

@@VulpisFoxfireCan you also explain how that type of mentality shows itself in Japanese work culture and their aging population problem? You used vending machines to answer their question which I thought was pretty disingenuous.

I love seeing the people's faces instead of masks. That bus hallway is claustrophobic, but I think I could walk it. Barely.

These buses are revolting. People regularly piss in containers. Flying or train are the only sensible ways to travel.
