About Dead End Hip Hop:
No scripts. It's pure unfiltered hip hop conversations and album reviews. No politics. No BS. We Are The People.
Can we acknowledge how great it is to have rod in front of the camera with the crew? as someone who's been watching since 2012, I remember the days of rod always being behind the camera and always wondering his opinion on things.
Rod is the man
yes we can. :)
Hell yeah, Rod becoming a true main roster member so to speak is my favorite DEHH arc lol
Appreciate y’all man.🥲🙏🏾
S/O you guys for the continued support, which makes the production team possible.
No doubt. A major plus no matter the show.👊🏾
Denzel said he’s consciously drifted away from like the trap yelling thing cause that came from a place of anger and depression
Milo 😎😎
Denzel is EASILY top 10 out of the 2010 rapper's!🔥
His artistic growth is on par with Tyler, Danny Brown & Kendrick Lamar!🔥
Hmm 2010's rappers? I don't know. 2020's, he may be top five. But what does your 2010's list look like?
@@johnathanpotter924 my top 10 new school rappers from the 2010's would be:
1. Kendrick Lamar
2. A$AP Rocky
3. Freddie Gibbs
4. Mac Miller
5. Denzel Curry
6. Joey Bada$$
7. J.Cole
8. Drake
9. Travis Scott
10. JID
@@johnathanpotter924 Denzel dropped his first album in 2013, so ya I think that's a fair claim. If you gonna judge 2010's top 10s who you got?
@@TuneSquad296 Pusha T isn’t new school but otherwise Dope list man
@@intelligencecycle3523 Damn, you right.
Mike's "damn" be having me rolling
That shit had me dying especially all their side comments 😂😂
IMO this may be Denzel’s best work, if only second to TA1300
Yep, same. Taboo kinda can't be beat because of how conceptual it was, but this is just so fucking great.
Writing on this is way better than TA1300
The maturity of this feels bigger and grand but Taboo will always be conceptually on the nose
N64 clears both
Just came through to say love the profile pic. Zombie GANG, I just bought the Laced Odyssey cd for that sick ass artwork
i love this album. denzel curry is pushing the modern sound(s) of rap masterfully with each record he puts out. and his lyrical content is brilliant too.
Denzel told Anthony Fantano in an interview that there are so many people on Ain't No Way completely by chance. They just all happened to meet up somewhere and all agreed to make the cut together
Ok but can we talk about how amazing "The ills" is, personally that is my #1 favorite song on the album
Same. Wonder why they didnt mention that one
This! Listened to it on repeat for a whole 1.5 hour car ride
That fucking piano beat is amazing
Denzel’s magnum opus. No skips. I’ve been a fan for years, and it feels good seeing how he doesn’t have 1 bad album + seeing how far he’s made it is incredible.
I love Zel but X-Wing is terrible and Troubles is a cheap attempt at a Tiktok jingle. Rest of the album is great tho
@@stopwaitingfam I’m not the biggest fan of the X-Wing hook but overall it’s a good song. Also…I don’t agree with that “Troubles” take but I see where you’re coming from.
@@stopwaitingfam u trippin, X Wings is top 5 songs on the whole album and T-PAIN killed that joint
@@stopwaitingfam I couldn’t skip X-Wing for like 30 minutes bro, I guess you tripping man. That song is earworm
@@stopwaitingfam I like how your 2 skippables are both top5 tracks on the album. the slowthai or whatever track is the only skippable to me.
If Zel is still not getting his credit after this album then something is wrong. This is an AOTY candidate without question. There is not a single skip on this album.
Denzel’s trajectory and story is so layered atp. From the days of UA-cam freestyles and random clips/music videos with Raider Klan and CSPG ,to me seeing him live in 2014, to now, Its been amazing to watch. Only Tyler and Earl have a bigger progression I can think of from that era of teen rappers.
gotta throw Vince Staples in there too
@@spaceepandaa I'm late but you're 100% right with Vince. From him rapping about r*pe etc, and saying on record he hates making music and won't do it as a career, to now. crazy progression.
Had me dead when they said “the woman rapper 454”
Honestly I thought it was a woman too at first. Just goes to show you can't assume from someone's voice.
454 best in the game rn, he’s the next wave
@@slunkzillabest in the game 😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ken's fake out was great, especially when Rod pointed out he had the big iPad out.
Been following Zel since the Raider Klan days. His growth is crazy to watch.
454 a whole dude bruh😂😂. Myke saying he was a woman was hilarious tho
But I thought it was a women too bruh 😭
Yeah, I also thought it was a female rapper at first. Kind of an androgynous voice tbh.
“A whole dude” 😂😂😂
I don’t like it better than ZUU or TA1300 (probably because I just love him over those kinda beats same as Myke) but this may be the most polished Denzel Curry yet. There’s definitely growth there.
This has to be his best work since TABOO, production was solid throughout and the features were on point. No skips and its cohesive and consistent all the way through so this is a 10/10 imo.
I know his building blocks was with N64 and Imperial, but Taboo was the project that made me appreciate Zel. That album was his Section.80 as far as full potential artist.
But THIS album imo is a hip hop masterpiece. Everything from Jazz, R&B, trap, 90s boom bap. It’s everything I love about Hip Hip in this one album
Denzel is one of my fave rappers after this album
Great ass career so far and great project after great project. Melt My Eyez is gonna be a top rap album of 2022 7-8 months from now.
I was VERY surprised how Denzel was able to gather together so many different sounds and make it so cohesive. Definitely in my top 5 so far this year.
Like your pfp
Ordered my merch! Let’s go! Keep up the content fellas
DENZEL DID IT AGAIN.
HE DESERVES HIS FLOWERS. 🐐🔥🙏
This album is so amazing. Denzel's diversity, maturity and overall growth has been dope to see. I keep going back to this album and I can see it being my top 5 mid year and let's see if it makes my top 10 or stay in the top 5 for the entire year.
This dudes range of creativity is insane
The love y’all have for music is inspiring, so many years later still going strong
was waiting for this
12:19 Rod saying "oh shit" got me cracking up...
why is Ken's iPad just getting bigger and bigger
I didn’t even know they made iPads that big
His iPad is a sentient lifeform at this point
Love Denzel great album I wish he get more love in South Florida. I feel like he’s been under the radar in Florida.
Denzel needs to get his roses! He just keeps getting better. My only gripe is the name of the album.
Why’s that ur gripe
@@stopwaitingfam Because i don't like it. Although it makes sense to the album.
Favorite tracks (as selected by DEHH) - "Sanjuro" (All four of them liked this song). "Walkin", "Mental", "Ain't No Way" (3 out of 4 liked these three songs), "Angelz", "X-Wing" (2 out of 4 liked these two songs)
10/10 for me. I need to see this album performed live 🙌🏾
Taboo live was my favorite concert ever
Denzel album is fire, Saba's album was fire, Earl's album was fire, Benny's album was fire. And Vince dropping his album Friday, AND Schoolboy dropping a new single on Tuesday???
Not even halfway through the year yet and hip hop has been GREAT this year man
Billy Woods album come out this week too. And Curren$y x Alchemist and Fly Anakin dropped great albums
Don’t forget Dreamville dropped their collab tape w/ DJ Drama “D-Day”🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I listened to this album 3 times without looking at the track listing. Easiest listen in a while. No skips. Smallest gripe is the beat for the hook of ZATOICHI, but I understand why it's there. 10/10 album. I also thought ZUU was 10/10 as well, but this brought it to a 9
After the last track I’m like we’re the rest of the album lol Dope Album
@@corysmith4293 The Ills has my favorite beat on the album. So chill.
Denzel Curry is easily one of the best rappers out rn. He’s just made great project after great project and his evolution of sound is just absolutely crazy. I wish his name got more recognition. He deserves every bit of it
Loved this album. Couldn't stop listening to it all week.
The Ken troll was hilarious
We gotta get feefo a better mask cuz he be goin thru it in the vids with how many times he has to adjust it lmao
I think this was one of feefos best intros for a review
Love the little clips you guys added in the middle they were great...oh yeah and the album is a banger too one of his best for sure.
great review guys, keep it up
this production is top notch! much love always
This album is on repeat! Amazing work and my AOTY so far
I just gotta say I love y’all’s new studio setup. It’s seriously professional and it’s an improvement upon the casual vibe of y’all’s last place in my opinion.
Been waiting on this .. walkin has to be top 10 track of the year so far
Yall should watch the interview he had with Fantano
🔥AIN'T NO WAY IZZA ANTHEM🔥
Surprised how much I liked Denzel on some Jazzy instrumentation like "The Ills"
Every song is amazing
Been waiting for Rico & Denzel to mix up and do more
This definitely an Album of the year.
Love y’all. After y’all review I’m going to check out this album I did like Taboo and now excited to hear Denzel new project.
Zeltron is definitely one of the top 3 dopest rappers making music right now imo, even if he stopped right now he’d already go down in history as having one of the most consistent discographies in all of hip-hop, and presumably he’s still just getting started.
Denzel deserves Kendrick press
you caught that line in the last track?
Play the bad guy just to finish the race first
'Cause the last guy was nice, but he end up dying of thirst
@@EWeis33 and then he follows up with "I'm singing"
Too influenced by him
I think this was a pretty dope album from Denzel Curry. Taboo is still my favorite album from him. It just seems that album has more vibrant colors in the music than this album.
The lady who was singing on the Angel song was Karriem Riggins
Myke the Kid C Town back again!!
What do you do if Myke isn't here?
@@localgrocer7709 The crew without Myke back again 😂
His thoughtful lyrics on this album really blew me away, one of my favorites and just love it more with each listen
“The more I listen to it, the more I love it.” Me too me too
He said he was inspired to make this album after listening to the roots album things fall apart🔥🔥🔥🔥
Denzel is a legend. The introspection on this album is the highlight. However, the melodies on Taboo push it ahead. He’s close to topping it, tho. I can’t imagine what he’s gonna do next…. But I hope it’s UNLOCKED 2
This album is incredible an can yea please do a review of Sadistik new album
What if we got a Denzel curry X Kendrick Lamar track??😱🔥
Ken plot twist in this review killed me
The OG theme gave me chills
run the jewels cause i kill the mic on any LP is the hardest bar of the year
Dope ass bar, and kinda surprise it hasn't been used yet.
@@poopymcpoop9945 it has
@@user-fs7zm6zc7s who?
@@poopymcpoop9945both danny brown and wayne said similar bars on actual run the jewels albums lol
@@user-fs7zm6zc7s yea I guess. Look I ain't no Denzel Stan but when I heard it. It hit hard. The Wayne one was more recent, I do now remember it.
Sanjuro means 30 years old. Not sure if he's 30 though lol
This Album is Very Good. His Flow, Cadence, Lyrics, and Production were All VERY Nice! And The Album Flows through the songs beautifully! 🙏👨🏾🎤🎧🎶🎹
when yall uploading favorite artist worst album on patreon ive been waiting for it.
First listen on this album I am sold. 💿 🔥 I listened to the album before I played this review! 🎧
Luke Skywalker is a great archetype for the hero's journey. So maybe thats what Denzel sees as inspiring.
RUN THE JEWELS, CAUSE I KILL A MIC ON ANY LP
I am still in awe over that line
Ty for putting 454 music on there cause if y’all left it as “who is that women” that would’ve been wild 💀
And to find out it’s actually a guy 😭
Denzel Curry > J Cole
I’ve never held such a strong stank face as I did listening to Sanjuro the first time
How tf did feefo not know that was Rico Nasty 🤣
Denzel curry and Mick Jenkins are in the same boat for me
Dope Album, He’s growth over the years is dope
“Walkin” is one of the hardest songs of the year 🔥🔥🔥🔥
LMAO, 454 is a dude hahahahah he just always pitches up his vocals. He has been my favorite rapper for more than a year, I’m sure y’all wouldn’t like him knowing y’all’s taste but he’s the new wave and will surely blow up once high pitched vocals get more mainstream attention. If you wanna give him a shot listen to Andretti, this song is so addictive I’ve been listening to it literally every day at least a couple times since it came out.
I was dying when they called him a girl but yeah i loveee 4 real been on repeat was so excited when he popped up on this album
Imperial, TA1300, ZUU, Unlocked and now MMESYF. Zeltron doesn't miss! His discography is Top-Tier.
13 slaps too
They did a great job editing this video because I had no idea that Ken was in the video for so long 😂
I would say Luke Skywalker is an influence on here for Zel in that this album is in a way about his own heroes journey and especially for a nerd like Zel, there aren't many heroes journey stories to look to that are more iconic than Star Wars
I read the interview they mentioned - Zel was specifically referring to RotJ Luke, when he's a little older, wiser, still a good guy but a little myterious and dangerous. I think the point he was trying to make was that he still wants to go hard in his music, but he's not willing to be crass and offensive to get there any more.
Denzel is the best performer period. Every word no stopping.
Walkin is RIDICULOUS
This is the best hip-hop project I've heard this year so far. Also, I STILL bump ZUU on the regular.
What is ken talking about? Denzel been rapping about serious topics since like imperial
This is still my favorite album of the year even after Kendrick and Lupe
Melt session is a perfect intro
Nobody:
Me at random times of the day: *WALKIN 'ROUND THE HOOD LIKE IM JOHN WAYNE*
This is a dope ass album I played it a lot and worst comes the worst and Last day my fav
454 is a dude 😭
oof lmao
i had to make sure to reference him because of that😭😭😂 i wish i would’ve known while we were recording
This is his best album.
Imperial better for me
Facts.
Worst Comes To Worst is everything I’ve ever wanted from Denzel, can’t believe y’all didn’t hit on this track more. Also y’all were sleeping on Zatoichi too.
Loved the review but now yall GOTTA review a 454 song just for calling dude a girl lmao😂😭
I wish b wouldve been there for this one
Miami stand up!!!
I was kinda meh on Denzel. Melt my eyes made me a believer, Best Album that came out this year
kinge played us all lmaoooo
Imperial had a bunch of social commentary and anti police brutality bars
This is the second review I have seen that mentioned the Run the Jewels bar. On one hand, it's dope that y'all appreciate the line. It is a good line. And it was good when I wrote it 6 years ago. On the Zero Grav song "Classics 102" about 43 seconds in, I say "Run the jewels... Who this heavy? Tell me/ they know I kill a mic every LP/"
I like Denzel's music, but this is not the first time time I've caught him stealing my lines. That's from my 2017 album Purple Haze. I remember commenting on that JID and Denzel track "Bruuuh" in my IG stories, and JID watched the story. So I know Denzel is aware of my work. The lines are just too similar for me to say it's just a coincidence. He evened rhymed "sell me" with "LP" and I rhymed "tell me" with "LP". Denzel is a good artist, but he doesn't usually have punchlines like that. My discography is full of them. So that line doesn't even sound like something he would normally write. Honestly, at the end of the day, I just want the credit I deserve. I've been making dope music for years totally independently, and haven't had that push that a lot of these artists get. But my album CHMBR ZRO is up there with the best of the best, and I know y'all would love it.
You have some of the best reviews out there, and I appreciate your insight. I thank you for the compliment you didn't realize you were giving me 😅 I work really hard on my lyrics and they mean a lot to me. It sucks when artists take them like that and get the credit. But I'm trying to make the best of this situation. Thank you again
people have been making run the jewels bars for years bro. danny brown literally has a similar line on a run the jewels song from 2016.
Mine is from 2016... And I know about the Danny brown one. It's not the same thing. He was talking about rolling Ls and Ps with El P. These Denzel bars are practically word for word the same as mine
We came a long way 😂
T Pain can actually sing without Auto Tune unlike most of these fools that use that shit.
Amazn album
