Yeezus is probably my second favorite album by kanye.
Ok I remember I became a big Kanye fan when Yeezus dropped because it sounded like something I’ve never heard before. When it come to Black Skin Head I honestly thought it was a white guy (I was at a store) later discovered it it Kanye West rapping over a beat that you usually hear on a Rock song. Now if you look at a lot of 2013 interviews a lot of people hated on that album because it wasn’t your common rap album. To me this album is like 808s and heartbreak where it’s ahead of its time, it’s almost like wine the older it gets the better it becomes. If you’re a fan or heard Tyler’s new work you can see how much he got inspired from Yeezus!
To me Yeezus was a modern day Tupac album. Why? Well if you think back Tupac’s songs are liked by many people because of how he talks about racism, government issues and white corporations. Now if you look at the Yeezus lyrics he has many good topics about today’s problems like Tupac! Only difference is that he decided to experiment with the beats, something you’ve never heard before, not your regular rap beats.
aldo montano correct indeed
He ripped off other artists because people don't actually like experimental music. If you were listening to those he ripped off like Clipping, Ratking, Death Grips, Blackie etc. you would hear this is just plain corny.
Didnt tyler work on yeezus too tho? In the cherry bomb documentary kanye says tyler inspired him for yeezus and the rough edged messy sound always has been a tyler thing to some extent
Zhi Xing Ong i think ye was just being nice when he said that tbh

I think its funny how no one mentioned the influence of Yeezus on this year's AOTY so far (IGOR)
TRUTH
Who let bro on the right speak for hip hop? Stop it 🤦🏿♂️
Exactly
ye is the most insightful and personal Kanye album. Production wise, it's a new direction that, even if it's not reinventing the wheel, it's a fresh approach. Both Ghost Town and Violent Crimes are going to be regarded as two of the most important songs in Kanye's career.
The fact that these journalist think (like Complex) that their review and placement of the album at the end of the year has any effect on the opinions of the masses is so funny. Noone respects those reviews since who knows when, the only ones I would agree with are the internet reviewers (Fantano, DEHH etc) but the rest dont mean shit they usually just get clowned.
Zojc “this is all complex’s fault” like bitch please
Zojc fantano is a straight corn ball.
GrayGooseShotter no
Fantano’s a cornball
Fantano has the worst take when it comes to hip hop. That dude didn’t like Sabas last album.
It was made for people not to enjoy that much, even kanye admitted that he had way more melodic and better versions of the songs. He was just over kissing the publics ass. Mbdtf was basically ye trying to gain everyones support back , but he realized that he dont care about fame and publics good graces, he wanted to focus on pushing boundaries. He was frustrated that everyone kept shutting him down in fashion and wanted him to just stick to music. Imo its underrated tho the sounds is too futuristic for some people.
Yeezus will age like Untrue by Burial. Both incredible yet still not fully understood.
Late Registration is Kanye’s best work because its perfecting the College Dropout. Kanye and orchestrated beats is a duo that has been unbeatable to this day. It also rids most of the off the wall skits that TCD had and gives them a better storyline of a comeback. There’s endless classics like Hey Mama, Roses, Heard em Say and the beautiful piece of Late ( underated track )
Following that is MBDTF and the rest can shift places depending on your current mood but I see myself visiting Graduation more often.
I love these conversations. This show is SO necessary .
