The clear plastic stickers are for putting on the spool when you spool up with braid. Its supposed to stop the braid from slipping on the spool.

nice infos & thanks for it. pairing it with 2020 Zodias (264UL-S) would be an awesome black/red combos. Sadly the 500 & 1000 vanford has no S, HG & SHG (or SSHG) variants.
after 1,8 years my vanford is crap... handle ticks and moves to muck into the body...lineroller bearing worn out fast... i have a c3000 hg in parts i bought and replaced it to the 2500 just moved the body and it became a 2500 hg instead
Nice review. Why did you choose the higher gear ratio for this reel?
I am planning on using it in mountain streams. Thought I could use the faster ratio.

Great reel so far. Smooth drag and so far flawless operation. Nice upgrade from the Stradic Ci4+.

What do the letters mean?
Have a 2000 and a 2500. The 2500 is much smoother and easier to start reeling. My 2000 has a bit of grit to it.

@@finesseanglers I have a 2500, a 3000 and a 3000HG.
In my opinion the higher gears versions are a little tougher to reel than the low gears version.
It may sound stupid but I also heard this from a former shimano employee, not sure if 100 percent true, but it certainly feels that way.
@@RikkiHockey more torque with lower gears.
I think the handles are longer to compensate for the reduced torque

What do you think of the Vanford vs the Vanquish?
I don't think it's fair to compare the two. They are in different price brackets. The Vanquish being $200+ more. But that said, the vanquish is my favorite reel at the moment.

You can't go wrong with either! That said my preference is the Vanford. I like what Shimano had done with the new line up.
You forgot micro module II Vanford has taken straight out of Stella.

Same body, 1000 has slightly less capacity.

COMPACT body , that mean he have a 2000 spool with a 1000 body .
For 3000c it will have a 2000 body But 3000 spool then?

Cos I bought mine from Japan and it indicated made in malaysia
Yes I believe the baggies are made in Malaysia.
What does the 'C' and 'S' in C2000SHG mean?
C is for compact (1000 size body), S is for shallow spool
You should pair it with Abu garcia eradicator real finesse rod, it would look great with the black and red accent

Does the 1000 size spool hold the same amount of line as the 2000S?
Holds a little less.
@@finesseanglers incorrect.. holds much more cos the regular 1000 size spool is deep. you might check the specs on shimano official site
The 2000s is a shallow spool although wider, holds less than the 1000. 100 for the 2000s vs about 160 for the 1000

I have both , not big difference .
Every time I see some one spinning the handle the stradic fl spins faster than the vanford
What a poor description. Nothing about the one piece non moving handle of the vanford, the improved line clip... Also you compare a 1000 stradic to a 2000 vanford...not a comparable exact size.
Actually they are, they share the same body. Different spools. Sorry you didn't like the first impression.
His reel is c2000 s which means reel size of a 1000 with a shallow spool of 2000.
