There was a time in my life when I used to listen to this song in the dark whenever I felt down, so pretty much all the time. I didn't listen to it to feel better or anything. Just to give words to my misery. It took time, but things got better, MUCH BETTER. I forgot all about this song. Actually, I heard another song by Novo Amor, Lucky for you, that I really loved and the band didn't even ring any bells. Today, this song came on my algorithm and it brought back all the memories. How miserable I used to be, how I comforted myself, how I pulled myself out of that darkness. I am proud of how far I've come.🤍

I passed out last night (on Halloween) and faceplanted on the floor, knocked myself out for like 30 seconds. Scary shit all around, but the first thing I told my friends about as they were checking me for a concussion was this song. I don't remember the conversation myself, and I don't even really know the significance in sharing this story (if there's any) but idk. Wanted to post it somewhere for posterity.

This is a special song for me so I just wanted to share a small story I have with it.
In 2021, I got stranded in Tokyo as a shortcoming of the pandemic. It'd been about two years since I last was around my best friends who live on the other side of the planet. It was the end of October and temperatures were dropping. Things were starting to stabilise again and signs of improvement were everywhere, but I couldn't help but feel lonely and wish to have those friends nearby. This song would carry me into the colder part of Autumn while I bore the frustration of not knowing when I would be with them again. I walked up Showadoori many times while blasting this song and feeling deep every time the words "I miss my friends that I pretend I don't need" rolled out. I wept so much to this song that now it's become a play-and-weep kind of song for me.
This year, I finally reunited with them. We're stronger and bigger after all that happened, but I'll still tear up every time this song plays. If I let it out, it's now a good cleansing cry.
I hope these songs that Novo Amor made are the ones that the future generations would listen to whenever they wanted to hear what our generation sounded like.
