how do i choke the stick " how many inch's from bottom (vs) how quick the rebound????" i've found out you can hit the middle of the stick on the snare rim and get an extra hit with no "effort needed " also im having trouble holding on to the stick with the left hand whyle blast beating ???
@@pLayC I don't understand your first two questions. But the extra hit when hitting the rim is probably the gravity blast (just search for that on yt). Holding on to the left stick while blasting - well, that depends on which technique you are using. Make sure you hold the stick in a good and relaxed grip and if you are using flying fingers or push-pull it is absolutely normal to loose the stick often in the beginning ;)
wow. when i watched the video i was like "i'll never be this fast" i only could do like a 80-100 bpm blast beat. but with your help one year later i reached 260 bpm. Thanks dood ;)
Thats alota improvement in one year, congrats!
While I'm here hitting the sticks from one another at 80bpm
1 year later? Damn
4 years later. 640 bpm?
@@HardBloodNelza 😂
whenever i have problems with my blasts i come back to this video.
Zimorog Band Dude your channel is Badass
Same, big fan!
I seen you before 🤔🤔
This guy is a great teacher. I've never even touched a drum set but after watching this it makes me want to try.
never to late to start! \m/
I have i just... don’t own one lol drums are expensive...
@alex2930 alex2930 yeah, my kit costs 90€
Join the percussion community, my friend!
You should i mean i cant because they are so expensive and loud but i bet you can
how sweetly you explain things. lots of respect
Wanja, I am learning how to play drums after years on the guitar. Your videos on technique and rudiments have helped me play with speed, quickly. You are very clear and easy to understand, thank you!
What, did you just say, as a beginner I can't play like George Kollias? Hold my beer!
Good informational video, from my experience these "boring" exercises really pay off later and you'll be thankful you practiced them.
I drive a German car, and I love drums. You are awesome, Wanja. Your name is now in the dictionary. Most likely in the annuls of Rock!
Wow man, you're an outstanding teacher
Outstanding organization, delivery, and instruction. Nice job.
Thank you!
Wanja [Nechtan] Gröger you are amazing
why cant every instructional video be this simple and thorough? one of the best ive seen!
English is great, nice and slow were as English teachers run through this stuff so fast no one can take it in.....very good lesson spoken perfectly thank you bro.
Thank you, I've been looking for a tutorial that broke down blast beats, and this was exactly what I needed.
This is a very good break down of it all. Thank you. I'm not a drummer but I'm teaching my 8 year old daughter how to play kick the shit out of the drums. \m/
Literally man, I had a drum set in my attic, for rehearsal with friends (im a guitarist), thanks to your videos I've been able to jam along my favorite tracks from Repulsion, Sacrilège, Death, Bolt Thrower. I never tried to play drums seriously, now with this , I've been able to ! Thanks so much
Quite possibly the calmest drum lesson I've ever seen
Haha this guys a legend. I've seen so many videos of people showing you how to blast beat and all they do is blast the shit outta there kit and leave the viewer right were they started lol.
"The traditional blast beat is very, very cymbal..." 😊
Clear, concise and to the point. Nicely done, easy to follow.
I’m new to drumming cos I still wanna play music but just don’t care about doing shows anymore so I went and bought a cheap electric drum kit and this has been such a big help. Thanks a lot
Are you me?? That's exactly what I did. How's it coming along? I got my kit about 3 weeks ago and making a little progress. Can't wait to be able to play good enough that I can add guitar and bass to it and record some stuff for me to jam out to.
@@insertmetalusernamehere it’s going good! I haven’t been practicing much but yeah I’ve definitely went from zero to a lot better. I bought a cheap digital audio interface to plug into my iPad and a cheap mic to mic guitars and bass. And just use garage band on my iPad! Perfect for making low fi black metal haha
The best blats-beat video for beginners!! Really, You helped me a lot!
Thanks for the lesson! I wasn't sure where to start in order to try to learn blast beats. Great job breaking it down!
This is still the best tutorial for blast beats on the Internet!!! Thanks Nechtan!
Omg you are so precise and fast !
Thank for very much for sharing your knowledge with the world! I don't play metal but I love the way blast beats sound.
So excited to try your technique thanks for explaining it so well.
Thanks for your classes, you're the best
I can't wait for summer to start so I can try out your techniques... I've been practicing blasts from an online learning course for a few months and it just isn't helpful... Your explanations are very clear and concise, which brings my hopes up. Thank you for the video!
Nice to hear that it helps you :)
Thanks for this video! You addressed both of the problems I've run Into with my blasts. Your videos are a great help, cheers mate!
Thank you very much for your work, mate
Hello, i started playing blastbeat from a month. You are the only teacher who can explain the technique step by step to be able to play it well. Thanks, this lesson is useful. Cheers from italy!
Many thanks for this lesson Sir.
I was trying to get my baby off to sleep watching various nursery rhymes and children's lullaby's but his was the only video that worked! Thanks for the instructions and the added benefit of getting my daughter to sleep :-)
I love the empathy of this man😊
I never even knew how to get an idea of how to blast beat, thank you so much for up loading this video
I love listening to carpathian forest band and dark funeral!!!!!!!!! Thank you............

This is such an amazing tutorial
Straight forward, no filler instruction, taught with patience and calm. I cannot wait to record some newly acquired blast beat technique onto my own songs. *I've wanted to play drums since 1986, only got a kit this year.....dream of forming a band but in the meantime, this will be my passion \m/
Hello Wanja, greetings from Greece! Thank you very much for these video tutorials, you explain everything really well and you are very kind! I have just subscribed and I will make sure to follow your instructions to improve my technique. Cheers!
Thank you for this amazing tutorial, everything i need to know. I'm a beginner, but want to start right into blast beats...
Damn dude that video was super helpful. I was learning blastbeats by watching other drummers but it helps with the way you explained it. Thanks man
What I like about this lesson that he talks about dynamics. I am not an expert on blast beats but that seems to be crucial to this type of drumming.
Excellent beginner video. Nice work.
awesome tutorial! thank you so much :)
The intro made me think you'd be kinda full of yourself, but you seem like a sweetheart. :)
very good material!
Good stuff in this video. Real good stuff.
Now that schools off till May I need to get this down. Excellent video, cleared up a ton of stuff I was messing up. Can't wait to start improving!

Right On Bro! Just got a used drum set with a set up similar like yours. I like the way you emphasize in the technique. A big Texas thanks from Texas! Cheers!

top 10 fav UA-camr. youve helped me a lot
So esey... Thanks bro... So nice method ❤❤👍👍
Thank you for the private lesson! You make it look easy! l going to woodshed on the lesson! Thanks!
Wonderful advice as always! You sir, are a blast beat guru. Your honesty is on point as well, i tried to learn my favorite nile song (burning pits of the duat) on guitar once and couldn’t do it. I believe it wouldn’t be any easier on drums. They’re an above average band for sure. I’ve seen them a few times. They were actually my first pit. Very talented guys.
I'ts are goods information for the beginners drumers to intend play Extreme Metal and it's my situation. I hope you post more video about this. Thanks!

Cheers mate, so helpful!
very good wanja congratulations
today. I played my first blast beat ever. thank you!
Great lesson, black metal drummer here from the U.K.
Great explanation.
Great video, thanks for posting. Just wanted to remind drummers out there who want to play along with tracks that are beyond their current speed limit. UA-cam settings at the bottom of the screen allow you to select different playback speeds. For example, you can slow down the video to 75% or 50% of the original speed, or you can play it back at tempos faster than the original, up to twice as fast if you like. This creates a lot of exciting practice possibilities..
Saludos de chile. Eres un master drumers.
