Big hello from Athens Greece 🇬🇷!!! good evening and happy 2023!!!! how did you make the cutter to cut this thread?? please make a video how to sharpen the cutter??
Actually not so. Brother Yanto went one better. At no time in this video did i see a cutter held in the chuck. Yanto, held the stock in the chuck at all times. It was like Fly Cutting with the stock being the Fly! I love it! Wakodahatchee Chris
I’ve watched a lot of this machinist’s videos and he never ceases to amaze me with what he does and can do with his lathe. It’s like he was born beside it. Does things that most machinists without a milling machine would say couldn’t be done on a lathe alone. I’m just a wannabe machinists and I learn a lot from his videos even though many have no English spoken or subtext saying what or why he’s doing it. Guess we think a lot alike.
С Новым Годом мастер! Отличная работа, но мне кажется, достаточно было изготовить цилиндрическую втулку с резьбой и приварить, как это сделано на образце.
While the stock used for that lead screw nut may not have been ideal, the video does a wonderful job of demonstrating what you can do with the most important and versatile machine ever invented... the Lathe! Besides needing a good machine a Master Machinist also helps. You work that lathe like you were born next to it! The one thing that really stands out though is how you addressed the task at hand. Here on this side of the pond I would venture to say that most home shop machinist would attempt to mimic a mill by using a milling attachment mounted to the cross-slide. An End Mill cutter would be held in the chuck jaws or Colette. You instead, turned the stock and held a standard cutter in the tool-post like any typical lathe operation. This has great benefits because all the cutting forces generated are in the direction that a lathe performs best. I love it!!! 🥰Thank you brother! Wakodahatchee Chris
Gday, Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family, I hope you enjoyed your Christmas/New year, I honestly think there is nothing you couldn’t make on your lathe, you just make it all work, brilliant job mate, always enjoy learning from you, cheers
Looks like your tail stock has a slight, 0.002-0.003 thousandths downward slope on its front. Can see drill bits spring up during withdrawal from piece in lathe Chuck being drilled.
@@Yantoo as knowledgeable and visually observant and as accurate as your eye and mechanical precision is I figured you had noticed and knew of it but wasn’t sure.

I have an old vice with exactly the same problem. The male thread is steel, but the female is of cast iron and it shattered. I want to make one of steel just as you have done. The pitch etc seem to be non-standard, and I read that square threads tend to be custom sizes rather than following a standard. If I fail to make one, perhaps you might make it for me if I send you the old one to follow ? I will surely email you !

It's amazing what you achieve, with a machining lathe, my brother Yanto 😍. You invented the lathe with incorporated horizontal milling machine 😁💪
Thanks brother Dadier 😁♥️

В нашей стране есть небольшая разница, то есть иногда потребители сами определяют и привозят железо.
