Loving others means that we not only care about what is "good and healthy" for us, but also what is "good and healthy" for "THEM". Creating DEPENDENCY is not "good" for THEM either, because by being catered to, dependent person is actually prevented from learning SELF-RELIANCE. Without self-reliance (among other things), one can never develop a strong sense of SELF, and thus remains to be a "human doing", rather than a "human being". When we are TOO GENEROUS, we HURT BOTH, the GIVER and the RECEIVER. The more we love others, the more we need to be careful about HOW we love them.
You’ve shared some very thoughtful insights! It’s true that true love and kindness sometimes involve helping others grow through self-reliance, not enabling dependency. Striking the right balance is key to fostering healthy, supportive relationships.
