Gautama became Buddha in India and the Himalayas were formed with the impact of the Indian plate. And Nepal is also somewhat in that plate. I wish Nepal and India could be one country and live like brothers. I agree the Nepalese are less toxic than Indians. Nepal is like the Switzerland of the Subcontinent. Hopefully we can be better friends. Peace. We India have definitely lost the real values. Real Dharma. We've replaced it with false Nationalism. The day We regain it , I pray to God, India and Nepal can be one again and the whole world will learn from us. We can be Akhand Bharat. India and Nepal. We dont need the others.

@DiceKid2008 It's just an idea. I dont like Indians. I like Ancient India but today's India only has pockets of goodness left where as Nepal is by and large far better. I know that mate. I didn't mean Nepal will become better because of India but India can be better because of Nepal. But India mostly needs to change before it can learn.

Please read the comment above your comment (StaffaN)... It really got my blood boiling, being a patriotic Nepalese! I admit that there are decent Indians like you but considering the poison that many Indians spit in social media, you really cannot expect brotherhood and friendship from Nepalese, can you? Of course, I know that there are some serial abusers (verbal) among Nepalese as well, but, for the most part, that is a knee-jerk response (defence mechanism) to the verbal, physical and other forms of abuse that Nepalese have long been subjected to by your countrymen (and women)... The irony of it all is that India is supposed to be one of the great civilisations of this world, and yet, and yet, a small neighbour like Nepal which has never harmed, rather always helped, India, despite its many constraints, cannot even expect a modicum of civility and decent, humane behaviour from the 'civilised' citizens of that 'great' wanna-be superpower India...

I stopped reading your comment at "rail as a means of transport is not popular in China". Apparently, you have never studied nor traveled in China, because if you did, then you would know that normal trains are so crowded that standing room only tickets are often sold out, not to mention seats and bunk beds. As for HSR, it is less crowded but seats, especially coach class, are often sold out as well.

    • @Bournetolive

Passenger traffic could only be low on HSR, and that is not true for most lines, especially those servicing major centers (Beijing, Yangtze Delta, and Pearl Delta). Normal trains are always packed, and tickets must always be booked in advance. My uncle, for example, had to travel from his home province Henan to Yunnan in the far southwest (latter usually considered the sticks in China). He could not find any seats or bunk beds, so he had to take the entire 54 hour train ride with standing ticket only. I still do not know how he managed to do that to this day.

Wow, I don't even remember my initial comment. But if you think Nepal is India, then why don't you go advise the Indian government to go and conquer it? Heck, Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and has been politically unstable until recently. China would want to trade more with Nepal and help it develop, but the Himalayas is a tough physical barrier to overcome. Also, Nepalese government has in recent years been too reticent about building railway to Chinese border and connecting to Chinese rail network. This has caused China to deprioritize proposed lines that go to Nepal, such as those from Shigatse to Zhangmu (Nyalam). Nepalese government is doing so due to Indian pressure, so Nepalese people must elect braver and more cunning leaders who are willing to demand fairer treatment from India and remove the overt influence India has on Nepalese foreign policy.

It because Bihar capital of the mugal empire of Bengal region attacked Nepal and they lost so badly that after few year British first inisative at north of indian subvontinrnt was with them. May be Bihar should not have attacked Nepal. Just like how Tibet faught with Nepal got captured by Qing. Then Qing attack Nepal and it king died in exile and it area being in control of British and France. Sikh empire Ranjit sign faught and defeated a small Gurkha force in a land that was neither sikh not Nepal. And after his death British took the entire Sikh empire in 3 year. Where they got Kohinoor and crown jewel. Britan attacked Nepal also however they made monument at Nepal which they have done to none stating how they faught as equal. From barbaric mentions in diary to equal human race. Nepal broke britan ideology of being superior race in indian subcontinent. It was the most costlyest and most troublesome invasion britan has ever conducted in indian subcontinent. 3 mountain region of protection, malaria prone at South Terai, flood and geography /altitude sicknes. Britan even lost there war elephant at Nepal as they did not wish to flow the command to journey at Nepal. Britan also lost eastern state of America, Canada and Australia, territory that can say arguably say some portion of the world. Moral of the story Nepal has faught with empire more wealthier than itself however all who invaded Nepal has asked for peace first. Who ever thought of conquring Nepal, those country have lost existance or there land. Nepali land had been avoided by ruler in both north and south
From gengis Khan to muryan empire for a factor one of Ashoka daughter was married to Nepali price at Kathmandu. Ashoka who had 90 percent of today India , Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. The tibetean king who conqured china after Mongol faded also married a Nepali princes bikuti, the Chinese most precious ancient building are built by the enginer arnaniko from Nepal. So in history Nepal and it's people have played an important factor. Buddha was born in Nepal but his teaching is all over the world such as Mongolia.

Sure the Slavs in the Balkans had a lot in common with the Russian Slavs but still there was a similar need to project power (and playing into WW1).

But according to their logic, we Indians can also claim our boundary from Afghanistan in the west to Burma in the east, Hindukush mountain in the north to Kanya Kumar in the south. At the end of the it doesn't matter what is the boundary of a country in the past ,or if it matters then Persians can claim their boundary from Asia minor to Central Asia, Mongolians can claim whole of China excluding Tibet. @@Harry2002-z9q Mauryans:-
      1. didn't even controlled whole India for 20 years.
2.Didn't controlled Nepal as Nepal had it's own kingdom and kings parallel to Mauryan. Kirantas were the Kings in Nepal at those times who were Sino-tibetic people.
3.No historical individual or state knew Maurya and claimed to be their successor before British came and made India into a whole new nation state.
      4. Mauryan empire was just a failed state that left little to no impact in India and just glorified and hyped up by India to justify the various states in Bhatratbarsa coming together to make a single state. India is not a successor of Mauryan it is just a British product.
If Britain hadn't came and ruled India then India as a nation state wouldn't be there.

@@bimandas4499 actully if you are thinking about what Nepal really is then see the map of Nepal 200 year ago, this is without even adding other Nepali kingdome. Even Nepal by it self contain land that is part of today Punjab state. I know right Punjab was divided by India and Pakistan so to compensate India gave the land that was near Punjab which neighbor was Nepal. Arguably if Nepal land that they gave to British where returned Nepal will likely border a new country known as Pakistan, likely deradun where majority of indian army, IPS (police), IAS (civil servant) are trained are also Nepali land that was part of Nepal. The garwal rifles that stoped India china war at 1960 come from previouse Nepali land. Terai area ,Darjaling and 80 percent of sikim was part of nepal. Now let add Nepali kingdome such as burma (not India they are ethnic Nepali people who speak Nepali (80 percentage) without being taught Nepali at school), now arunachal Pradesh, asam and many more north eastern and western area are all Nepali native land. It stated even in the epic Mahabharat. People believe Bharat included map geography of today India but that arguably incorrect. Nepal is a land that is more like Switzerland, it neighbored didn't wish to fight Nepal because any invasion of Nepal has been provided disastrous. Britan even stating that in all of India. Subcontinent they faced the biggest problem at Nepal. Why British was busy fighting 200 villager than moving forward. All who invade Nepal are first to ask for peace. Even Ashoka the great which symbol also shown in indian flag married his daughter to a Nepali prince. Tibet ruler who conqured china also married a Nepali princess bikuti as a first wife, gengis Khan attacked India through Afghanistan/Pakistan side but didn't come through easier path through the silk route of Nepal which was in land of Tibet which Mongol conqured. Mugal invaded Nepal once.but they lost so badly they never thought about trying again. Maharatha didn't wish to fight Nepal for expansion. Rajput king did fight Nepal but even here Nepal wins. I myself am Arian ( probably indian decent) but even here 60 generation of my family have lived in Nepal. Before you say oh you follow Hindusam. Sure but even here it stated in Vishnu Purana that rightoues people known as Arya where taken to Himalaya mountain of Nepal and Tibet when entire earth was flooded. It started that sanathan dharma was spread from Himalaya region of Tibet and Nepal. Himalaya is the centre locations in all of sanathan book. Rishimuni who spread veda and everything regarded the dharma have spread from Himalaya. It stated that human life spread around the world as water level of earth slowly dried and gave way to the new land.

Nepal is a country blessed with eild life, 10 percent of world mamel species can be found in Nepal, more bird species than entire continent of Australia. World most expensive fungi Is mainly found in Nepal, world most hardest cheese is found in Nepal. Due to the silk route with china and indian middle eastern spice trade Nepal cousin has been adapted as a cousin that taste plesent for nearly all Asian country as a taste of there own native food. A chalange conducted in Korean tv channel vs where Nepal was against Hawai, Thailand, Korea and Paris. Nepal had wan 3/4 of the episode at number one position. The food even been stated if they had reheated the food from Korea. By the way asain country flag use to be triangular until adapted the European style ( china, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam etc). Even now flag represented in India or Tibet (china) in temple, monastery are trainagular shaped.. Flag of Nepal has been triangle and remained the same as from period of the epic Mahabharat (5000 plus years ago) as the same flag it represented the war. In which kingdome of India, chin and Greece has been mentioned taking part. Along with Nepali kings, some say it a myth but history can not argue that such king and kingdome existance and the fact of nuclear radiation and use of similar wepon on the battlefield, they have also found lost kingdomes (dwarika under the sea (epic Mahabhart). Further to add people living in indian subcontinent such as Nepal who don't share the India Hindu believe also state there king attempting to join the great war of Mahabharat .

Neither will hold any realistic long term naval power, India has little need, and China is far too inwardly focused to keep their current project going for too long, the same sustainability of their civilization that brought them that power in ancient times is the same force that isolated them when Europe was colonizing the world.
