  • This is Arthur. Arthur has no communication. He cries when he wants something, cannot express himself, cannot tell if something hurts, and his mom can’t understand him all because he does not have a way to communicate. With the help of PECS and the group at My Planet in Sochi, Russia (Anna Postol, ABA Specialist and Olga Popova, Director), Arthur was able to find his voice. In an effort to share the positive impact PECS has had on their family as well as help other families around the world, Arthur’s mother, Marina, partnered with My Planet and Pyramid Educational Consultants to create this beautifully animated video describing the 6 Phases of PECS. This is Arthur’s story.

Until when he still using pecs? Is he need to talk too? Not just talk by pecs? If pecs just make sure the child understood what they want by pecs but they should talk too?

They will encourage the boy to learn speech and language to communicate better when using PECS. PECS help the boy to expand vocabulary and sentence construction.

When he shows you the pictures, you should read them out to him and encourage them to do so. But encourage gradually, slowly. Don't rush it, especially if they show signs of rejection. Cuz you know that your objective is to help them develop language and speech.
