What Babajide doesn't understand quite well is that being a king or chief oe emir is mot a fundamental human right, it is a privilege. So, the federal high court doesn't have jurisdiction over the case.

Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, before his dethronement, was the Emir of just a few local government areas in urban Kano and not Emir of the whole of Kano state. With the Kano emirate system, having been balkanized into five emirates, Aminu Bayero merely superintended over a fraction/a section based on the emirate law now repealed. The new law emirate law has reinstated Sanusi as the Emir of the whole of a (single) unified Kano emirate. So, it is legally inappropriate for Bayero to contest his removal and restoration by seeking equality of status with Sanusi.The metropolitan (urban) Kano local government areas that defined the limitation of Bayero's emirate actually show the limit of his jurisdiction. Sanusi's emirship (jurisdiction) covers the whole of Kano state. Therefore, it's unlawful for Bayero to seek restoration to the emirship of the whole of Kano, which is far beyond the limit of his erstwhile office.
All these layman's interpretation of court jurisdiction! 😮 Matters of jurisdiction are not derived from the constitution directly. It's wittled down to procedure and which laymen may not know offhand relying on a general constitutional provision. Let's be guided.

Do always cross-check your facts before commenting on any issue.The Kano State Government (Kano Governor Yusuf ) had already SIGNED AND ASSENTED THE REPEAL LAW 2024 BEFORE ANY COURT ORDER (on the 23rd May ) and that the reinstatement/ reappointment of Sanusi LAMIDO Sanusi (as the 16 Emir ) happened shortly thereafter on the very same day (on the 23rd of May ) and the Court Order was issued and served on the 24th May.Therefore, the court order has NOT affected the actions of the Governor a day before the court order (interim order ).This is the position of the Kano State Government.

While BKO is finding faults in Kano State Governor for allegedy faulting the Federal High Court Order by issuing a letter to the 16th Emir of Kano- Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, BKO never saw nothing wrong in Justice Liman that gave the controversial Order over the phone when he was physically not present in Nigeria.

Which one of the judgements? Are you aware that there is another order given by the state high court, which is even more valid than the federal high court own? Cherry-picking judgments didn't start with Kano State Government.

I'm going to disagree with BKO on the issue of Sanusi and Bayero. Sanusi won against the Kano government on the ground of Human rights for banishing him from the sate.. Not for removing him as Emir. Being an Emir is a privilege, not a right. The federal high Court can only assume Jurisdiction over the human rights part, that order Bayero's arrest. Not to restore him as Emir..

Jide is not right, the issue that sanusi took to federal court was his fundamental human right however the issue of chieftaincy title is not a fundamental human right of anybody and as such it cannot be adjudicated at federal high court
