Instruments imitations on guitar 2 (using an air compressor)

- I tried to get closer to the sound of some musical instruments with my acoustic and electric guitars, without using pedals, midi, synth or special effects. I discovered that using an air compressor it is possible to get close to the sound of wind instruments: the compressed air makes the strings vibrate and allows to get a sound very different from that of the guitar. Playing on different strings and different octaves, by selecting the different pick ups, it is possible to obtain different timbres. The instruments were reproduced using the clean sound or at most some distortion. I use only objects to change the sound of the guitar. Enjoy it!

It’s just a sound that some clocks play at the hour. It originally came from Big Ben in London. My grandparents’ clock plays the same tune. I agree it’s really amazing he got his guitar to sound like bells. For some reason, the guitar and snare effect with the dollar bill woven into the strings was the most interesting for me, though I feel like I have heard it before. (Did a famous artist do something similar to their guitar?) Edit: apparently, Johnny Cash used a playing card the same way to imitate a snare with his guitar. Multiple commenters pointed this out.

Years ago I wanted to learn piano because it was "versatile", now you come and show us all that your guitar is way more versatile XD
Even without the air compressor the guitar is much more versatile. The only perk the piano has is that you can play more notes at once than 6 and it has more range. It does not have sliding, vibrato, tremolo picking, or the ability to get a different tone depending on your plectrum material or use of plectrum vs finger.

Recording the sound of the noisier/less precise sounds from the actual guitar itself is such a clever way to bypass any unwanted noise. You still get the nuance and timbre of what it would sound like and nothing more. Really beautiful series, reminds me a lot of what they were doing in the 60s and 70s to get new or found sounds out for something that sounds good.
Me (a trumpet player): You can NEVER perfectly recreate the sound of a trumpet on a string instrument.

put a microphone/megaphone into the pavilion. It produces a distorded sound. You can play a powerchord with the double sound technique (with your voice).
Other technique : just sing without play in the tuba with your head voice. I like to do this with Santana - Europa
