I don't understand why they keep making melee towers the same price for late game towers. It's obvious that most melee towers are not that good during late game and are meant to clear out early-mid waves
the problem is in reverse actually: if a melee tower IS good for lategame, it would just destroy all waves so fast that it doesn't matter what is in it.
For real bro I payed 600 robux like an idiot for a tower I thought would be good for early to late game just to get completely scammed for a tower meant for mid to late game
I see this as more of a nerf. I was able to solo fallen before with slasher, but now I cant. Since they removed multi hit he cannot handle anything with more than 5 enemies and he also costs WAY too much. Hopefully he gets buffed soon maybe when the next nights come out.

I do not like this new rework, I feel like the point of slasher was a pretty good early-mid game tower to clear off swarms while doing decent damage to tanks, i soloed molten with just slasher on crossroads but now it costs SOOO much to place which took away the point of placing him id rather use that money for any other good tower, and where the heck did the knife throwing ability go? It was what made him different from all the other melee towers, overall and pretty bad rework.
I really liked that slasher was both a melee and ranged tower, and cheap to place down, It made it more versatile. Now It just kinda doesn't feel worth it to place down and use for that price, and now it's mostly just an expensive warden with DOT instead of Stun. It didn't have to lose it's unique mechanic of knife throwing.
Slasher was GOOD before the “buff” it could’ve been used as a replacement for gladiator because of the nerf to multi hit on glad but infinite hits on slasher. But they removed that. Cmon devs please fix 🙏

IMO Slasher isnt even an early game anymore Its a mid to lategame tower that has genuine boss kill viability I tested it with a friend against Patient Zero and I dont mean to say this lightly... we only had about 10 max slashers by the end (DJ, Comma, Medic supports) and they destroyed Patient Zero within mere seconds.
They could've keep the chainsaw and make It actually automatic. The bleed stacks cap higher etc. And mske him toss knifes to finish enemies in a 5% hp thereshold while a bit afar of his range. It would've been good and worth the 32k. Imagine thst thing doing ticks of 11 with idk 70 bleed stacks plus 3x crit
I would only recommend it for niche cases. But to be honest, it's not good, nor bad, just outclassed. Brawler, warden, gladiator are generally better options for melee towers.

Warden preformes amazing in early waves, wdym? However you are right with sledger being a little underwhelming in the early game, but it was so much better as it was cheaper. The new one is a lot more expensive.
Not gonna lie the only problem with tds games is tô make an tower decent and also make the game harder (removing the grindy part that most kill td games)

Personally, I didn't like this rework because, unlike the old one, this is just another melee tower with high damage. The old one was fine and all, but we already have the Brawler and the Warder. The only good thing about the new one is the bleed effect, which provides decent DPS, but I loved the previous Slasher because it was great for early defense. Its knife-throwing ability was quite useful, and its DPS was much better than the current one because, despite having less damage, it had a much faster attack speed. It could even outperform the Gladiator with its buff (without Commander), plus it was very cheap and could deliver excellent DPS. This Slasher... left a lot to be desired.

Every update the stutter gets worse. I like the rework, I thought too that setting it to strongest is better so it has time to stack up damage on the enemies that needed it, but its early game is pretty meh due to its cost. hes only really good maxed. The price might be justified if they kept his throwing knife ability

Tbf, sledger was absolute dogshit for early game even before the rework. Warden also didn't perform well. Not much of a difference I am seeing here.
