It's hard being "canceled" in the age of social media when people just move on to the next most talked about situation that's making waves. Kanye can say the most wild things imaginable and by next week, damn near the next day, people will be focused on some other form of breaking news. Just the way the world works today.

I agree that losing his mother doesn't give him the right to proceed with the slander and other shitty behavior but what I do understand is the loss of your mother and the feelings that come with it. Especially for an only child that comes from a single parent household. Once that one person is gone the world feels empty years and years later. It's been 9 years for me and the feelings of loneliness are still strong as ever. That unconditional love that you can only get from your mother is something nothing and no one else can replicate.

To understand that, you gotta go back to 2004 when he came into the scene and look at Anakin in the first two acts of the movie where he was apart of
Kanye always knew that he had something in him that midas touch and he would let everyone know, just like A. Skywalker. A cconfidence that might be seen as arrogance. Both always had something to prove and they would take advantage of any opportunity to do it, but both had someone to check on him whenever they were about to go to far (Donda/Obi Wan Kenobi). When Ye lost Donda, not onky he didn't greave properly but he also felt some guilt to what happened to her. Anakin on the other hand made a wrong choice, and when OBK checked on him things went sideways when OBK expressed disgust on what his disciples was turning into, gave up on him and also hurt him in the process. See the parallel now? Don't need to be genius to figure this out.
Both were babyface early in their characters development and then turned hill once their supervisors were deceased and gave up on them respectively...

Untrue. Cancellation is never absolute. You can still see many people who were "cancelled" on the media, just alternative media. Sometimes they pop up in the mainstream, but the point their image in the mainstream will now either be absent or painted negatively. That's the effect of cancellation. You'll hear about Ye again, of course you will. But it'll probably be painted in a negative light, then you won't hear about him for a while. Whereas before, you'd hear about him daily.
I saw the title and was expecting a terrible take defending him, but the presenter made a lot of valid points. In the end, money talks and controversy sells. By no means am I Kanye supporter; haven't been for a long time. But I'd be a fool to ignore the fact that there are droves of people who share his opinions and will continue to line his pockets indiscriminately.

It feels like for the past five or so years Kanye has been surrounding himself with worse and worse crowds, he's become more politically focused with far less thoughtfulness, and at least from what I've observed, since his divorce and the controversy around it, he's been more aggressive, more radical and more impulsive. The combination of the mindset and place he's in personally, and the crowd of radical and predatory right wing personalities informing his political views and preying on his narrative and clickability, have lead him to embrace this new anti-semitic, reactionary, shock-value persona that's fuelled by his paranoia and his anger & ignorance. As a fan I've seen quite a few of Kanye's controversies through and this feels different, he's crossed a line to which he's no longer just giving bad takes, but instead is being actively harmful towards a group of people in a way that has far more weight than Kanye's past takes on slavery as a black man, or abortion, or his marriage, which have been excused in the past. I'm personally done with supporting Kanye in any way, and I've seen a significant portion of his core fanbase also distance themselves from him in a way I've never seen before. When Chris & Travis quit it felt final. It did always seem like he was uncancellable, but I think this might be the thing that doesn't, because it's not just an isolated incident, it's the culmination of Kanye's past few years as a public figure, and his own personal life.

I acknowledge that ye is still an incomparable force in hiphop and culture at large, and I don't think will change, I do think he has crossed the Rubicon here in the repeated doubling down on full on Nazi rhetoric that he never stooped to before, and his mental state is just clearly worse now than ever. I also don't think he has another college dropout, graduation, MBDTF, Yeezus, Pablo or anything else of that caliber in him anymore. I liked donda a lot, I love all his work aside from JiK(even that's okay imo), but his work isn't the same level of genius, it's inconsistent and sloppy now. Ultimately even for a giant like Kanye, that will erode his public standing and he will fall someday, and I think this might be it.
Donda and JiK are his best projects in my opinion. Way mature music than in his older albums (which are amazing too dont take me wrong) but I just feel like that.
Yeah he’s on a new plateau now. How could you ever make the same level of music again from the top of the mountain? He’s on to bigger and better things now and can really make a difference.
