Great video. Left there in 1987 after having lived there since 1960. Lived in 4 different neighborhoods right off of Victory Blvd. Doesn't look as if it's changed much at all. Glad to see to ballfield still there at the top of the hill in Clove Lakes Park at Royal Oak Rd. Best pizza in the city right there on Victory at Joe and Pat's. Yep SI sure was different than the rest of the city. And that's how we liked it. Thanks for the nostalgia.
Straight out of my mind . . . like from a dream . . . I was born (1971) and raised on Staten Island, and lived at 1125 Victory Blvd from '91 - 95. All the bus stops I used to stand on . . . and when I wanted to save 75 cents to a $1.50, I would walk . . . this entire street . . . one cold night, after my shift at Millard Fillmore's (it's a DMV office now), I decided to walk ALL THE WAY home . . . I was young and stupid . . . thank you so much for this. I'm not crying . . . :)
I am happy to read that. Thank you for sharing those precious moments. SI is beautiful and deserves to spend more time walking and enjoying its streets. Thank you for commenting and I hope the other SI videos bring some peace to you.
Thank you for helping me reminisce. I left in 1983 and I've been back many times, although not recently. I have fond memories of growing up there, and yes it's not the same, but where is actually? Thank you. You are doing a great service. Hopefully you will do Richmond Road.
I am happy to read that. Thanks for watching and commenting. You can watch more videos on the channel for Staten Island, NYC and more. Here is a video for Richmond Ave ua-cam.com/video/1tLJdB0bG7g/v-deo.html
Some people call it peace, quiet, safety, clean, lots of trees and a better place for kids....some people think that's necessary for a good life and then there are people who think the previously mentioned are boring
Thank you for watching and for comments. In my opinion, every place had a charm in its own special way. Every one of the five boroughs are amazing and Brooklyn had a lot of magnificent advantages starting with the history of the first wave of the dreamers going to the current ones who are still dreaming. Thanks for watching again and I hope you like the other videos in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Long Island, NY upstate and NJ cities.

@@US-4K Thank you so much! I didn't realize you had already done one. I'm going to subscribe now.
Reminds me of Delaware county PA.
This is what sucks about Staten Island. Where are the people? Brooklyn has Charm. Staten Island is sanitized and homogenized.
You make brooklyn worse.
I am sad to hear that. each one had its own charm. thank you for watching and sharing. i hope you liked the other videos.

This is what I can’t stand about Staten Island. No people in the video walking around. Brooklyn has charm. Staten Island is as boring as a wet noodle.
