Ewegales is such a special place. Essentially wild (almost) camping. The manager told me recently (early August 2022)that they are thinking of building a new toilet/shower facility around the area you were camping in the video. She also showed me a photo of the poor person that found the ditch by the entrance with their car and had to get towed out!
It certainly is Paul…a lovely stretch of river and very peaceful. I’d prefer them to build an eco set up for toilets as I just like the site as it it really!
Great to meet you this week Andy at Holme Field Farm. Have subscribed and liked a couple of videos already - looks a great channel! Happy travels - will look forward to your updates.
Lovely hidden gem that one, won't be too long til i'm back. The ones in Dent are handy but sometimes it's grand to be out the way. You're really making me want to get a bike again with these recent little sites out the way you're finding. Used to be the joy of the bike, i'd just set off into the dales, take a left, then a right... get myself lost and see where i'd end up for the night.
Hi Andrew, great to meet you at Rivington Barn recently. Great review. Really enjoy your vids. They inspire me to get camping. Keep up the great work. Hopefully met again 👍
Likewise, it’s amazing how many subbies I do bump into randomly, no doubt we’ll catch up on the road at some point…don’t think too much about camping just get out and do it 😃
Hi John, I’ve been using a Trekology UL50 or UL80 mat, the 50 being very small pack size, lightweight although thin I find still comfortable and the 80 is slightly larger pack but still small, however is the most comfy mat I’ve had…it is quite thick, has curved edges which keep you snuggly in the mat, however they seem to have had a bad batch where I’ve had 3 that failed..customer service has been good but on the basis of the failures I can’t recommend! I’m about to contact again and let’s see what happens next! I’ve just bought an Exped summer mat as had to as last 80 failed on a trip…there will be a review out soon but happy with the exped and use a winter version during winter 👍🏻
Hi Andy, thanks for posting another camp site review. Looks a little gem. Back from the NC500 so may take a trip up to this site this week. Was the shower hot enough ? I’m happy with basic as long as the facilities are clean and the water hot. Had a ride up to the Wild Boar Camp site in the Forest of Bowland on Saturday. Just had a quick look whilst on route to Dunsop Bridge. There was only two family tents pitched up. Probably stay midweek as you recommend. Thanks Mike
Cheers Mike…yes shower hot and only 20p 😆 facilities are very basic but location makes up for that! Wild Boar Centre is usually empty through the week, it probably not going to be now the Camping Biker Crew 😂
Nice little site. Loved that road through Dent.
Good location for some great biking roads
Afternoon Andy, a superb location indeed. Glad you enjoyed atb Taff 🤠👊
Thanks Taff, I did indeed enjoy it and the next site at Malham 👍🏻
