too bad we won't see yuki/mayu after this but they're probably the best combo if polished. hirota doesn't have the creativity or firepower of mayu to balance yuki's lack of ability to hit a lot of winners and wakana doesn't have the court coverage and solid game (esp serve) to balance mayu's lack of movement and consistency. These two compliment each other quite well, they could've won this also if not for mayu's haunting memories from the olympics. Had they beaten lee/shin and chen/jia b2b it'd have been an amazing result for a scratch pairing.

chen is like marin in a way. Too passionate in their game I think and can be a hit and miss regarding their attitude on court not a fan of her too even though she is lethal on court
I remember feeling so tired after the 1st set that i decided to take a break and wait for the 3rd set. i was so sure there would be the third set coz i could see the fiery eyes of Mayu-Fuku lol, kuddos to Chen/Jia to stop the momentum, never a dull moment with these 2. 💪

What's wrong with her? yea, i know her error is overwhelming sometimes, but on her best form, she's the most creative and powerful and great in defense compared to nagahara. It was nagahara who was mostly the weakest link during the match against korean or chinese pairs

Honestly I think Mayu played really well throughout the whole competition. Although she have more mistake compare to others but I think she have absolute great skills. If she would reduce her mistake more, she will be one of the best female player

1:42:46 I have to scold these umpire not to simply give yellow card as the players are very tired due to long period of match. Players much towel down then only able to perform well. Furthermore, players have the authorities to extend the interval time for 3rd set to 2 minutes from 1 minute because they have to switch court and towel down as well as plan their final strategies. The umpire are not allow to give any warning card during that time as they do not understand about the tiredness of players.
