    Hey Wayne. I'm getting ready to make a vacuum seeder for the 276 count oasis. I make them out of scraps of metal and wood from projects here on the farm. I only have to buy a pair of $ 2.00 hinges. It will only take a few minutes extra to make two at the same time. If you want to see what it looks like, Speedy Seeder has a youtube video. The only concern wood be shipping cost around $35 from Indiana to Canada. They sell for around $1,000. It works great for pelleted seeds. I made one for my 72 count flats last year and takes about 30 seconds to seed a flat...

      Thank you so much for the offer, we really do appreciate it but we already have a vacuum seeder and plates.we find it easier to seed by hand most of the time. Wayne Is the only messy one! Lol
      Thanks again for your generosity!

    Hey Guys, first of all I want to thank you "BIG TIME" for the information and training you guys/gals are proving to all of us that are interested in kick starting their own little backyard venture. I'm from NL, Canada and I've been following your videos for some time now and I'm finally ready to create a "mini" lettuce house that will eventually provide me with enough info/training and experience to make it somewhat profitable within a reasonable period of time. Currently I'm having a little trouble locating the oasis blocks and a few other items you're using in your lettuce house. I've managed to locate the fertilizer/calcium however the website listed in your video today unfortunately does not deal directly with the general public. At this time I was wondering if you have ever considered putting together a $500 business/training package that would include the basic training/start-up equipment/fertilizers/root conditioners etc a newbie would need to "get their feet wet" in this business - if so I'd be interested in talking to you and I'm sure this would also be of interest to others that are seriously checking out hydroponics as sideline/full-time venture. Thanks again for everything!!!

    Great info guys and timing is perfect! I was wondering why my arugula wasn't doing too well that I just started and now I know! I was doing a single seed too in the Oasis. I'll try to start more this weekend and they will looks more like Waynes. Quick question though - when you move the Arugula to the finishing troughs are those holes spaced at 6-8 inches or more along the lines of 1-2 like the nursery troughs? I seem to think in an earlier video they finished with smaller spacing. Thanks for sharing!! Curt

    • @Growwiththelaplantes
      @Growwiththelaplantes  5 років тому +1

      Hi Curt,
      Yes, they should do much better seeding like this. You probably won't be as messy as Wayne lol. And yes, I made a mistake saying they were put into finishing troughs, they stay in the nursery troughs but were moved to finish with the other troughs. Sorry about that. Let us know how your arugula does on your next planting! Thanks for watching!

I'm a new subscriber and I've not got through all your videos but I'm working on it. Wife and I are getting ready to build a 18' x 40' greenhouse. And we are planning to do hydroponics. I've contacted American Hydroponics. If all goes well in the next couple of years we are going to have about 7 acres under greenhouses. Thanks for sharing. We are here in Ohio watching your videos I'm more comfortable with going year round. Thanks again.

      Welcome to our channel! Yes, the troughs are 11 feet long and placed with very little space between. We slide the troughs out and place them on harvest rack Farms which swivel out into the isle. Troughs are easy to slide and lift out. We do show thos on one of our earlier videos but not sure which one. I wish you and your wife all the best! Feel free to ask us any questions you may have. Thanks for watching!

    Hey guys
    I have been trying to grow arugula hydroponically. I also use Oasis trays to seed them and 18 days later I am transplanting them. However, the leaves are turning purple-redish and or yellowinsh. I was wondering if you have already experienced something like that? Do you know what might be causing it. I use a pH of 5.8, EC of 1.6 and water temperature at about 70F. It is my favorite leafy green and I have no idea why it is not staying green after transplant. Please help :)

    • @Growwiththelaplantes

      It never has time to bolt as we cut it before it does, but the reason we only do 3 to 4 cuts is because it tends to get tough at the stem after awhile.
