  • Installing a new Power Steering Pump on my Turbocharged Mazda Protege5! I did in hopes of fixing the squealing and leaking old pump. But in the end with the new pump I ended up with the same results!

    Join the FB Protege groups if you haven't already, specially the Mazdaspeed Protege Enthuasist group. They have been a huge help with knowledge and resources with my MSP for the past couple of years. Great video cheers!

    While burping the system the car needs to be On or Off?

    Did you fix the leaking? I have the same problem : (

      I believe so, I don’t see anymore on top of the pump. Haven’t check the bottom in a while but my tank is still full. The o rings are very important for the banjo bolt. Still haven’t fixed the sound yet though!

      @@NoahGaebel out of curiosity have you fixed the sound issue? my car just started making that sound this morning while driving to school and I remembered you had a video on it and came here to check it out

      I didn’t fix it. I know that ford have noisy pumps and this is a partial ford vehicle so maybe that’s the reason. But I have no leaks and the pump works great even after a year so i’m guessing it’s noisy by design.

    I think it might need some time for the fluid to get into the pump to stop that noise.

      It’s been in there for a while now, hasn’t really quieted but I have had no issues with the new pump.

    Great video man, although I'm confused on how the bracket adjustment bolts stay in place, where does the bolt with the hole in it get threaded into?

    • @NoahGaebel
      @NoahGaebel  3 роки тому +2

      The bolt with the hole get tightened from the passenger side, here’s a link with a photo hopefully this help!

    Are you grabbing that pressure switch connector with the needle nose at the 4:00 mark? I need to get the wiring harness off the top of my valve cover so I can replace the gasket, but I can't figure out how to get that little connector off the front of the power steering pump. Does it merely need to be pulled very firmly? There doesn't seem to be any clipping mechanism.

      There is a little indent that need to be pressed in. It’s like a standard plug. I used pliers but it comes off pretty easy

    Hey !! I got the same car !! My friend change the alternator belt and alternator both !! Now my car doesn’t make the noise anymore !! My car was making the same noise when I turn the car for the first time or using the AC or heat air !! The noise stop !! I replace the car stereo but I had power on but now sound (the sound go off after I bump to any rock or anything when driving the car any suggestions for that )
    Bye I live in Portland!! 👍🏾

      My car used to make sounds too with the ac and heat but I’ve gotten that fixed. I gotta figure out why my power steering pump is still doing it!

    What did the noise end up being? If you replaced the pump and put in new fluid.... I'm curious.

    • @NoahGaebel
      @NoahGaebel  3 роки тому

      It’s the same noise as before. It’s coming from something connected to the same belt. I took the belt off and ran the car and the noise was gone. So either faulty pump or I didn’t bleed it right or new enough fluid.
