WOW! This was an exceptional video not only on PAX, well thought out, thorough, detailed, presented in calm, thoughtful, easily understood way. KUDOS! THE BEST Pax planning video. Somethings I found helpful was to: * measure my existing shirt and longer hanger linear space * count # of pairs of shoes/boots * determine what can be stored elsewhere if possible: coats, holiday dresses, etc. * economical variation-Billy bookcases for shoe/purse storage. KUDOS again. Amazing video
The best Pax System informative video I have ran across on youtube to date. Thanks for posting and your tips. I finally understand the measurements lol.
The most informative on the whole internet. Thank you for this video. I’m waiting for the frames to be restocked so I can start building my pax wardrobe.
I recently completed my IKEA Pax closet installation and relied on your video for a lot of tips and tricks. You are so right on those pull out trays! That was the one thing I remembered and even as my husband was installing them, I kept saying make sure the jewelry trays have enough clearance. He said they were fine. What happened? Not enough space and he had to redo one of the tray installations. You really don't realize how tall they are till they are siting in the pull out tray. Also, I LOVE the felt that IKEA makes to line those trays with. It's super sturdy and love the grippy things underneath that prevent slippage and scraping from wood to jewelry. You mentioned that most of them fit the existing trays. Even if they don't, there are premarked dotted lines on the back to assist. For example, I had two of the smaller trays installed too and was able to cut exactly to fit them using the premeasured lines on the felt. Since the initial installation, I have made tweaks & added items. I do want to add another "L" shaped unit with drawers like you have on yours. I had the same issues with longer items dragging so opted to leave it wide open originally. However, I only need about 20 inches worth wide of space for those long hanging items, so the remaining 20 inches, is just wide-open space. Much better use for me to add the "L" and drawers for added storage. Thanks again for such a detailed and informative video!!
This is an exceptional video! Very insightful, informative and helpful. The tips and guidelines are superb! I love how clearly and purposefully you speak. Concise yet detailed. Thank you! The best video by far!
WOW! I just want to echo the comments here. I have watched tons of Ikea Pax videos and yours is by far the most informative and practical. Most of the other videos are about showing off clothes, shoes and bags. THANK YOU for creating this video!
Thanks for such a useful post. You really helped me realize a lot of things that I had not thought of. Really great tips and tricks. I have had my eye on the pax system for about a year now and I my plan is to purchase it in the next three months. Wish me luck.
This was sooo helpful. I was so distressed thinking about planing my wardrobe. With the information you provided I am now feeling motivated .Thank you soo much.
I’ve been thinking about getting the PAX system for a while. This video was so informative and super helpful! 💕 I like the sliding option you suggested for the shoes.
Hi So glad you shared with us your tips. Lots of notes gain. I did wonder if a larger frame can be split into two. You answered that for me. Thanks. Plus like ideas on shoes and drawer.
Gitrrrl ....you are on point. Thank you for the in depth tutorial! Your voice is smooth, and you brought the details we need to know about💯. Give us more 💗
This is the best review I have found for this system. Thank you so much. This really helped with my planning. I put my PAX unit together this weekend and couldn’t be happier. ♥️♥️
I'm actually considering the Pax with doors for comic books. Your excellent info and lessons learned has me reconsidering my design to allow for additional items and those poor hinges. I really like your system too, it looks nice in white. Thank you!!
Your amazing You have help me so much!!!!!! I’m getting to do my closet over after I have my floor done this weekend. Your video was awesome 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Do detailed. I feel like I can do this now. Thank you 👏🏻
Hey Stephanie - your video came up in my loop while I was watching TV. Had to hop over here on my laptop and leave you a comment because I really appreciate the detail you provided. It was so refreshing to get realistic advice and extra detail for those of us who are about to purchase a system in the near future. Thank you so much!
Since the shelves are so deep I put one shoe in front of the other instead of next to each other. That way you can see one of each of the all different pairs in the front of the shelf.
could I ask at 26:30, are you saying that the tray insert heights are too high? I did think about using non-Ikea inserts as alternatives because of cost but maybe because of height too?
Not sure you'll see this but I do have a question regarding: 'not adding a bottom drawer if you plan to add doors'. Does this information apply to the shoe pull-out trays as well or does it only apply to adding a bottom drawer?
Thank you for informative tips... in the processing moving in new house, and build my walk-in-closet. what's the item need to secure gap in between two pax?
I just put together a hall closet in the IKEA planner, with sliding shelves for shoes and to put containers for scarves, mittens,... on. Didn't pick the special shoe insert they carry for the slide out shelf because I feel it would get dirty very quickly. Wanted to know if I missed anything and found your video. It's wonderful! In my country there's also a third depth (35-58-66cm), but only with sliding doors.
Thanks for this informative video!! Few questions 1) I heard a mention that for the 40” frame , ikea has something I can use to section it off into two. What is that piece called? 2) any tips on hacks for corner pieces? I have 12 inch space in a corner that I’d like to fill connecting to the pax system Thank you!!
Thanks for doing this video!! I was wondering, how many inches do the drawers pull out to when it is open all the way? I have a narrow closet and want to see if I can fully open the drawers (for the 23 inch depth). Thanks!!
they pull out pretty far, I'd say you have about a 3.5" overlap meaning theres about 3.5 inches of the drawer that doesn't pull all the way out (obviously so it doesn't just fall out)

Wow, you did a great job of explaining this👍🏻💞
@24:24 what is that accessory called? 😩
Amazing video! So informative, thank you x
Thanks for this informative video!! Few questions
1) I heard a mention that for the 40” frame , ikea has something I can use to section it off into two. What is that piece called?
2) any tips on hacks for corner pieces? I have 12 inch space in a corner that I’d like to fill connecting to the pax system
Thank you!!
Your voice is so soothing and thank you so much for the tips!
Hahaha that's the first time anyone has said that about my voice but thank you! I'm glad you found the tips helpful!
im only at 3:00 but i already love this video and i think this is gonna be very helpfull!!
Thanks for this video! I’m definitely sold. Do the drawers only come in one height? Are there shallower drawers and taller drawers? Thanks
This is great video on PAX dimensions. What is height of your drawer? it seems there are 2 height options to choose from.
I see you have floor trim on the side. did you have to remove the floor trim on the back wall to keep the frame flush with the wall?
So helpful!
How much was this whole set up for the closet?
Thanks for doing this video!! I was wondering, how many inches do the drawers pull out to when it is open all the way? I have a narrow closet and want to see if I can fully open the drawers (for the 23 inch depth). Thanks!!
