An underrated fairly unknown skit, so funny and wonderful to watch, it really cheers me up everytime I see it. Not sure if anyone was doing live prank/crowd play shots like this, Ken Shapiro might of been a pioneer in this style of comedy widely used today with comedians and all of social media.
So freakin' funny I can't stand it....that fall he does, and then the recovery with the dancing cop...oh, man it's the best. Shapiro was a true comedy pioneer. RIP
Thoroughly entertaining. Haven’t seen this since the 70s. Then I was laughing . Now I want to be up there wishing he would come by me and let me briefly dance with him !
Laughed my head off at the movies in Stockholm, must've been 15... Ken Shapiro still just kills me. An unbelievable tour de force, The Groove Tube is one of my favorite movies of all time. Please come back, make more movies, the world needs a serious shot of Ken Shapiro, now more than ever!
@@frankdenardo8684That’s me at :40. They paid me $1 and had me sign a release. Didn’t bother asking how old I was (16). Technically not old enough to see the film! lol
Can anyone say what happened to Ken Shapiro, and by that I mean why he did so few projects? There are only a few things on imdb.com for him. Does anyone have a link to an article or any info on him, other than the small info on Wikipedia?
Marian Vitale can I ask if you remember if he was lipsinging without the music track or was there a speaker playing the song as he danced up to you. It would have been odd without the music I think. Tnx

It cheers me up every time I see it too!
Learned just now. RIP Ken. RIP Dancing Man.
Impeccable timing at the end when he hits the water! Nothing fancy, no effects. Just the real deal!

love it - I would have responded with a dance of my own had he danced by me..... (oh yes I would have)....
who would have thought anyone could turn a 20's tune into a living comedy! 2:04 thanks for sharing!
Pure genius ^^
I'll never not love this.
Got a question? Any question? No matter what it is, THIS IS THE ANSWER.
Hilarious movie and when this dance scene came on it was perfect
Funny movie, amazing scene!
Still a funny bit...r.i.p. Ken
Classic!!!!
Classic.
Gorilla Film Making at its best. No film permit. Just shoot. :)
In the '70s, probably, though they could have received a 'Location Scout' add-on ;-)
Thought i had problems...
i saw this at siu, carbondale as a jr,,1978.
Did anyone else catch the old man yelling at him inside the office building? He wasn't part of the act, he was genuinely pissed off!😅
RIP Ken
Everyone on that street went home and told their families about some goof dancing down the street.
It is just a movie
@@frankdenardo8684 yes I know.
@Jeff At least they got a part. Unfortunately, they are not collecting residuals or royalty payments.

Funniest movie ever made 🤣
1:58 is brilliant

Apparently he died yesterday. (that's me at :40 when I was 16, and someone contacted me on Instagram to tell me).

He was lipsyncing to the music which was playing loudly.
Marian Vitale thanks for the reply. The city looks different now, I doubt anyone could do this now. Everyone is too involved in their phones.
Are you THE Marian Vitale?
That’s me at :40. 😂
The music was Nat King Cole or other???
Yes, Nat King Cole. ua-cam.com/video/5ZSftUb9IcA/v-deo.html
Nope. it was ken Shapiro singing same arraangement as nat king cole
@@davidbillet8284 correct!!!
Sounds like lounge music with a hint jazz.
Who is the singer?
J'ai HORREUR de ce genre de musique à la con, c'est stupidement joyeux, tout en bémols et trop rythmique, très énervant et ridicule !
