    A FEW PRODUCTS I RECOMMEND:
    Eheim 2217 Filter: amzn.to/2uvVMWU
    Python: amzn.to/2JhaUNy
    Surface Skimmer: amzn.to/2QNn47P
    Privacy film for windows and tank backgrounds: amzn.to/2Z4tgt1
    Shrimp Net: amzn.to/2L1RQ7k
    Quiet Air Pump: amzn.to/2E8PMJi
    Aquascaping Tools: amzn.to/2E5N6Mu
    Seachem Prime: amzn.to/2E6qRGu
    Circulation Pump (Under $20): amzn.to/2E6s4h0
    Circulation Pump (Slightly over $20): amzn.to/2EazsIh
    This Pond-style aquascape was designed by Justin of Aquawerk to sit in a window with direct southern-light. This tank gets several hours of direct sunlight per day but it is diffused by a sheet of privacy film. (you can get that here: amzn.to/2Z4tgt1)
    The rimless aquarium is about six gallons and holds a wide variety of plants, including one of the smallest lily plants in the world.The lily does occasionally bloom, which adds a beautiful pop of color to the tank-I wish I had been there to see it.

    Aha! I’ve been... limited in the number of tanks I can run in the house. I had to consolidate two and shut one of them down. Now I’ve got this empty 20L that I’m itching to fill... and an idea! I live on a lake and the temperatures are warming up. I can take the tank down to the dock and play with some local flora. When it gets cold again I’ll just dump it all back in the lake! I won’t need any electricity or supplies other than the tank I already have and a little bucket for the world’s easiest water changes 😂

    Thank you Alex for sharing the video. I have to set my aquarium tanks on a rack, near 2 with windows & worried about problems with algae. But after watching this video, I don't think I'll have a really bad problem, as long as I keep up with water changes & add lots of plants. 🌱😉🌱

      The only thing to keep an eye on is the temp of the tank. The sun can heat up water quickly so measure your temp a few weeks and make sure it won’t cook your animals.

    • @TankTested
      @TankTested  5 років тому +15

      It’s up to your own interpretation, but I consider it a pond tank because it’s actually prettier from above than below. It was designed to be viewed from above, much like a pond.

    Great looking tank pond. You really should add a school of white clouds or maybe a male beta just to make it more stream like. They won't produce too much waste and it sure looks like your thank can handle the load. Just a suggestion from a fan of this tank.
    Keep experimenting. Cheers from BC Canada.

    It's fairly easy to get no algae in a low fish load tank.. even in heavy sun... my patio pond lost all rhe algae in it about the 2nd month this year until my rice fish started breeding and I started extra feeding and fertilizer just to ensure that there WOULD be algae

    What issues was he having using tap water that stopped after switching to RO water?

    • @TankTested
      @TankTested  5 років тому +1

      Good question. The water from the tap just wasn’t consistent. Some times it had more nutrients and sometimes it had more chemical treatments. I haven’t noticed those issues with my water, but for Justin the differences messed with his ability to properly dose his water for best plant growth.

    • @canelami1285
      @canelami1285 5 років тому +1

      Thanks for the quick response i really appreciate it. That makes sense as I have just one tank, use tap water but had problems with keeping cherry shrimp. Probably my tap water changing, but I'm too lazy to use RO so no shrimp for me. My anubias and java fern are still growing so that's good for me.

      To me it looked like a betta paradise (especially when he talked of using plants to make it low flow- no extreme circulation) and just one male betta would add that special touch. I agree though, without at least 1 fish its like watching grass grow....
