My buddy has a V6 mustang that we used to clown on him for. Everyone else in our friend group has a V8 but in recent years he’s been saving way more money than us in gas.
Still not worth it... lmao Especially considering the V6 Mustang still doesn't get GOOD gas mileage. I'd rather drive a Prius than a V6 Mustang. Both will be ridiculed, but only one gets 55 mpg.
@lisa p You do realize hot hatches with small engines still count as sports cars, right? The Honda Civic Si coupe is quite economic and fast. And it sold decently before it was axed (I will never forgive you for that Honda).
The Ecoboost makes all S550 Mustangs legit performance cars no matter what drivetrain option is chosen. Especially since you can get PP1 and PP2 performance packages. If you are a young enthusiast, in your 20's, first time car buyer you get a break on your insurance rates than the GT, you have way more usable room in Mustang than you would with the GT86/BRZ twins for roughly the same price and with a turbo upgrade and tune you would making GT350 hp and tq. I'm 60 yrs old I remember the Mustang SVO when it was new. Even Road &Track said it handled better than a Ferrari. But Stang bros were more interested in 1/4 mile times than turning a corner and the GT was cheaper.
You said it so I don't have to. All of the other cars in this list have horror stories attached to them about performance and reliability or safety. The ONLY reason the Ecoboost is on here is because "it doesn't sound like a V8." Laughable when so many viewers of this channel LOOOOVE turbocharged four cylinder imports.
@@JosephFrietze Yeah this was purely purely for aesthetic reasons nothing else. It didn't belong in this video. And kick in better weight distribution than the GT it's win win win.
Well, almost. The suspension is a bit too soft, so if you tune yours, you want to change the suspension. Going 160 mph with the Ecoboost, any bump will upset the rear... but other than that, the car is great. To me it's a replacement for the S15 Silvia....
I had a 2013 gli with the 6 speed that was great in like 2015. But it got me hooked and was looking locally for something more powerful fairly quickly. You explained exactly what the fix is for the MazdaSpeed 3’s problem is. So buying it isn’t so dumb now, is it? And a bit of disassembly isn’t really much for someone who’s been working on cars for a bit.
And another thing, the SVO Fox wasn’t a screwup in my eyes. It had a decent kick for its time. 175hp wasn’t too bad for not long after the oil crisis. As for the ecoboost S550, other parts of the ecoboost family can be found in other ford cars. The ecoboost 3 cylinder can be found in the fiesta ST. An ecoboost v6 can be found in ford police interceptors, the explorer ST, and the bronco raptor. So don’t judge a book by it’s cover
The Speed 3 ine really isn’t even a “problem” I’d you’re only doing basic mods like an intake and exhaust. As soon as you start adding down pipes and removing cats or tube it, then you gotta upgrade the fuel pump. Source: I’ve owned two Speeds
@@E46SedanGaming not a screw up, but Brad's statement about Mustang SVO and Ecoboost is.. along with 90% of the other statements he made in this video.
The eco stang is a great car! I've owned 2 a 15 and a 16 both premium pack and the 16 with a ford performance tune and the larger calipers and brakes. I'll say it doesn't sound good, but it's still a fun car! To someone like me who loves the mustang, but doesn't want 15 MPG, the eco is the better way to go! Personally, now I drive a 14 3.7 because I got a good deal and for longevity, I trust the proven 3.7 much more not to mention the v6 sounds GREAT with a Rousch exhaust! It blows my mind the v6/4 cylinder stangs get so much hate. They make so much more sense than a daily driving V8. It also annoys me when people say "You don't get a mustang for the gas mileage". I'm like no, but that doesn't mean I want as shitty fuel economy as possible. 15mpg vs say my v6 which I average about 22 in the city may not seem like much at face value, but it's the difference between getting 240 miles in a full tank vs mine which I get about 340 miles per tank. Also not forget its got over 300 horsepower, as much as older V8s and there's still modding potential. Needless to say, the v6/eco mustangs are still great cars and without them the V8 wouldn't be possible.
Don’t necessarily agree with your opinion on the ecoboost mustang , it does sound like a rice burner but it is because it shares the same block as the speed 3 and 6i t’s a great daily it’ll never be the v8 but it still better then how you talk about it, for people who just want a mustang it’s a great option save money on gas and might I add oil change cost of a eco is way less then a gt plus it corners a hell of a lot better due to less weight on the nose, I don’t understand why they get so much hate their a great starter platform that cheap and responds to bolt on well, way overboard on the SVO btw , I own a FBO Ecoboost mustang and Whipple stage 2 GT in case anyone wants to say I’m biased 😂
I give you the 1982 Chrysler Town Car with the 1.9L pushord _turbocharged_ K car engine - all 73 kW of it - dragging a full sized ladder chassis of 3 tonnes. Enjoy.
I owned a 2013 ford focus…. I loved that car.She got 30 mpg just driving around…..on the highway it went up to 37 mpg.Mine had a manual/stick transmission so no problem like the automatics.Hard to get anything with a stick anymore.
I never thought I would be defending Mazda 3 owners but you're purposely making shit up. Big deal upgrade your fuel pump when you add hp. If you modify your car you should have to make compensatory upgrades. Doesn't make them dumb.
The Mazdaspeed6 also had the same engine as the Mazdaspeed3 but would snap rear diff mounts and drive shafts. Mazda no longer makes those rear drive shafts so you have to go aftermarket when they snap. Both shafts and rear diff mounts you are over $1300 in after market parts and you have to drop the rear end out to fix them so you might as well get new suspension and anything else done that needs replaced. I still want one.
Damn bro u about nailed it. I guess you omitted the 3v F150 and the Neon due to lack of time cause everything else on this list IS a turd, oh and the compass almost forgot. Lol
Dodge Stratus/Breeze/Cirrus are way worse than Sebrings...believe me. I had a Cirrus and it was bad, and I was young/stupid. The battery was above the driver side tire. They overheated all the time. They were quick if you had the Holley throttle body, but that was it. Plus, front wheel drive. Not fun, not reliable, 2/10 lol
I urge you to take a little more time and look at the Svo foxbody more it was definitely a better car all around. The lighter engine made it more agile and had a better weight distribution. It also had a better 0-60 time compared to its GT counter parts. Yes I will agree everyone who wants a mustang wants the V8 car but as much as I hate to say it v8 is a dieing breed with these gas prices and on top of the increased price of the vehicle making the current eco boost a great option sure its not as quick and doesn't sound as good but for what it is it's a very good car and enough power to satisfy the average consumer and I can ensure you it has more than enough power for street driving I've looked into modding my eco boost to match the power of stock gt but at the same time what's the point you can't legally use the extra power gains anyway it get me up to highways speeds no time flat so why do I need the extra power or worse gas mileage?
u missed the point. mustang drivers want the classic american v8, if u want better mileage and a turbo 4 plenty of sporty options. s3, focus rs, type r, c300, ats, golf, 230i, etc.
@@Axxys ummm no, just some Mustang drivers want the V8. Besides, what's wrong with wanting a good looking body with a better MPG engine? not counting a very tunable engine.
@@airbomb34 yep. Wish people would stop comparing the Ecoboost with the V8... they are for different customers, and of course the sale numbers reflect that
Here are some numbers for the V8 clowns. From 1964 - 2010 V8 mustangs that's weren't a specialized performance version march1/cobra/shelby made less horsepower than any 4 cylinder ecoboost Mustang. Ecoboosts are more Mustang than decades of V8 Mustangs. Deal with it haters.
Please please please never buy the focus with the DCT. I had one and it was a really nice car for the price, OTHER THAN THE TRANSMISSION. Absolute nightmare, 80,000 kilometres on it and it failed. To make things worse, the TCM (Ford's bandaid "fix") is on backorder for nearly a year. Luckily I upgraded to a 9th gen Civic Si that I absolutely love. Hope it runs forever.
You showed a first gen mini S engine (2002-2006) while talking about “late 2000’s” (gen 2). 1st gen is nice although they can have timing chain issues if not maintained. The 2nd gen is the worst of the bmw minis but not a total lemon if maintained….and my son is a mini mechanic.
Best volvo engines are the redblocks. They can take alot of beating, have blown up a few in the past. But thats my fault because no service and real hard driving on the redline etc. But we could get them on the junkyard for about 100-200$ back then. If you take care of your car and drives it like a normal person most cars will hold
Weird video. Like why hate on an eco boost mustang. The mustang is Fords last car, they have to make it available to all demographics. So when your grandpa retires and decides he wants a sports car but rightfully has no business in a V8, he still has an option. It’s not bad or dumb…just this particular video
What? A Nissan versa is a bad car? I owned one for two years and never had any issues with it. I took it on several vacation trips from southern California to the Oregon coast. I ended up trading it for a Mercedes but somehow my cousin ended up with it and she's still driving it.
My friend had a versa in high school we were driving about 60 mph and got in an accident while he was driving and we did like 2 360’s and hit an electrical box. When I tell you that my life flashed before my eyes… let’s just say I’m glad I didn’t die in that monstrosity of a vehicle 🤣

Yep... the title is dumb. Most cars have a weak spot, and once it's taken care of, well they become something worth keeping.
The V8 will take you to Gapplebees bitch

I have a speed3, buddy has a speed6 and loves it. Highly recommend either

Damn bro u about nailed it. I guess you omitted the 3v F150 and the Neon due to lack of time cause everything else on this list IS a turd, oh and the compass almost forgot. Lol

And btw. The turbo mustang was cool, and is still cool.
@@Axxys Actually Mustang drivers want that powerful ecoboost over the GT and it's reflected in the sales numbers.
🚀🚀⤴️⤴️📩✍️

Best volvo engines are the redblocks. They can take alot of beating, have blown up a few in the past. But thats my fault because no service and real hard driving on the redline etc. But we could get them on the junkyard for about 100-200$ back then.

Weird video. Like why hate on an eco boost mustang. The mustang is Fords last car, they have to make it available to all demographics. So when your grandpa retires and decides he wants a sports car but rightfully has no business in a V8, he still has an option. It’s not bad or dumb…just this particular video
As long as the problem is reasonably correctable without being expensive, its not a walk away just because a given car has a problem.
What? A Nissan versa is a bad car? I owned one for two years and never had any issues with it. I took it on several vacation trips from southern California to the Oregon coast. I ended up trading it for a Mercedes but somehow my cousin ended up with it and she's still driving it.
in Australia the PT Cruiser was so renown for being a bucket or shit that anyone who owned one was referred to as a "PT Looser".
Pontiac Fiero noticeably missing
What about Mazda RX8? They're unreliable
