I end up following erics and your vlogs and all the other baseball related stuff on you tube. And I even want to get a baseball glove because of your reviews. Im so happy to watch your interest in how they made and break in gloves in Japan where is like an art.

Manager: "This part is the difficult part, inverting the glove" *Mr. Fujimoto hammers away all wrinkles in the leather in 5 minutes (*shows glove to Trevor with pride in his craft). Trevor: "You made the new sword logo design?" (Fujimoto-san points to the whole room to say "Oh, no, no, everyone here helped create this custom glove for you, Mr. Bauer")
In Japan, a person who masters one thing is called a "shokunin" The Japanese respect such people. Bauer is also a “shokunin” who has mastered pitching.
kinda depends on what you mean by "mastered". Shokunin is literally " person of job", shoku is job and nin is human, so it just means professional in regular English. I'd say any pro pitcher is a shokunin in this sense. If you want to say master as in the absolute top tier, then Tatsujin would be more accurate. Because Tatsu is short for Joutatsu meaning "reaching the top" and Jin is human, so Tatsujin is person who's reached the top, aka a master.
I'm sure your parents will be very happy to see you doing well with your teammates in Japan, being loved by the fans, and being successful. Your success must also have been brought about by your parents who understand you.

My father has passed away since, but that trip still remains vividly in my memory as the best experience in Europe during my 10 years stay.

What you said at 14:26 is so important! Learning about history from those who lost. My first time in Germany, learned so much from them that was never taught in school in the states. Sad thing is, Germany has decided to let their history from WWII mostly crumble into oblivion; as if by doing so, it's erasing a bad nightmare. Only, we MUST keep these places alive for future generations to learn from, or as they say, history will repeat itself...as it already seems to be doing. Well done!

How about what the Japanese did to pearl harbor , the torture etc of the captured American soldiers on other islands and fronts. The USA didn't bomb Hiroshima or Nagasaki for no reason, it was in response to what the Japanese started.
It’s insane to equate what happened at Pearl Harbor, a military base, to what happened to 100s of thousands of civilians in two major cities. If the Taiban attacks a US military base, you get it. If they ram several planes into buildings full of civilians, it’s a disgusting act.

Owned a Zett infield glove 32 years ago (11 years old then) and played with it until the Montreal Expos gave me A Wilson A2000 my rookie year in pro baseball. To own a Zett glove in the early 90's in Amsterdam (Netherlands) was special

hey Trevor A clever trick a high school coach once taught me when throwing a curve or slider, at the end of your pitch your fingers should almost be touching the ground at the end of your throw.. just food for thought. one other thing that I learned from the Astros legend Mike Scott is finger pressures to add movement on the ball.
The national baseball tournament for high school students, Koshien, will soon begin. Koshien is the biggest and craziest baseball event for the Japanese. Many of Japan's professional baseball players originated in Koshien. Koshien will be held at Koshien Stadium until late August. This is an important event to learn about baseball in Japan. Watch the game once!

Trevor, if you wish to learn more about the Japanese perspective of the atomic bomb I highly, highly recommend the book “The Bells of Nagasaki” written by Dr. Takashi Nagai. Dr. Nagai was a survivor of the atomic bomb in the Urukami District of Nagasaki, Japan. He worked at the Nagasaki Medical Hospital and University and was around 700 meters from the bomb explosion. His book details the moments following the bomb drop, and the months of care for the wounded. Unfortunately the last time the book was in print in English was in the 1990’s, but you can still find the book being sold on eBay and other websites where you can buy preowned books.

Lawson's started here in Cuyahoga falls Ohio. They then turned into Dairy Marts at one point and some now have turned into Circle K's.
At the glove factory, Trevor is the wife trying on all the clothes and Rachel is the husband thinking to himself “I’m missing the game for this?” lol. They’re baseball’s “IT” couple and they’re not even dating. Also, please make the fan mail segment a permanent thing. Those heartfelt letters you get are so touching.

Trevor, if you wish to learn more about the Japanese perspective of the atomic bomb I highly, highly recommend the book “The Bells of Nagasaki” written by Dr. Takashi Nagai. Dr. Nagai was a survivor of the atomic bomb in the Urukami District of Nagasaki, Japan. He worked at the Nagasaki Medical Hospital and University and was around 700 meters from the bomb explosion. His book details the moments following the bomb drop, and the months of care for the wounded. Unfortunately the last time the book was in print in English was in the 1990’s, but you can still find the book being sold on eBay and other websites where you can buy preowned books.
