Superman never fought anyone on his level...then the kryptonian military show up and they know how to fight....superman father at the beginning of the movie was a better fighter and he was also part of the kryptonian military as well...the fight between superman and general Zod at the end gave me DragonBall Z Vibes...with them throwing each other into buildings .....the flying in air fighting and stuff I personally love this movie its what superman should be like...so it should be anything but normal

I wouldn’t mind if they reused Henry Cavill as an Elseworlds Kal-El for the Injustice storyline teased in the Justice League Knightmare sequences. I loved seeing him solo the rest of the team.
There’s probably a bit of Evil Superman fatigue tho since we’ve seen that trope with Injustice, Brightburn, Invincible (Omni-Man), & The Boys (Homelander). I want James Gunn to nail Clark Kent as a hero with heart first in the main DCU timeline.
I wonder who they cast for Superman: Legacy. Gunn’s taking inspiration from All-Star Superman, a masterpiece comic, & the 90s - 2000s DCAU (like Superman: The Animated Series to Justice League Unlimited), which is a brilliant formula for a cinematic universe.
I’d love to see them finally adapt iconic stories like The Dark Knight Returns & Kingdom Come around 2035 - 2040 at the end of a 10 - 15 year-long DCU when the newer actors are ready to move on.
That's why Supes killed Zod. He couldn't get that violation out of his head.

Man I wish we'd have just got more superman movies without having to try to catch Marvel and make a universe. A trilogy of superman movies like this would have been lit but nah course not WB wanted a universe
Yeah, they started off decently with Man of Steel. Then they immediately debuted Ben Affleck’s Batman in a BvS crossover instead of giving Batfleck a solo film. They had Batman with a gun breaking his no-kill code, gave us a Lex Luthor that wasn’t anything like Lex, had the infamous “save Martha” scene, threw Wonder Woman in it too for whatever reason, then created Doomsday in a weird way & shoehorned the Death of Superman story in his 2nd appearance.
The Dark Knight Returns comic + animated film, Injustice comics + games, & Kingdom Come comic executed the BvS conflict leagues better than the DCEU. Then they release the Josstice League which made everyone cringe with the writing & how they crammed in even more characters for a team-up.
They had to release the Snyder Cut for damage control which had better CGI & explained the Motherboxes better. WW got a better opening scene. Both she & Aquaman got more focus. General Swanwick from Man of Steel is revealed to be Martian Manhunter. Steppenwolf is slightly more humanized & Darkseid is involved seeking the Anti-Life equation. Batman brought the League together and saw Knightmare visions teasing an Injustice Superman and Batman threatening Joker.
They kept one of the only good parts from the Whedon version with Superman soloing the team when he’s brought back & keeping up with The Flash. Superman wears his black resurrection suit & we get callbacks to Man of Steel. Cyborg had a full main character origin, arc, & tragedy. There’s also a much more epic final battle with a great Steppenwolf execution & The Flash playing a crucial role in saving everyone by speeding up to reverse the explosion.
Fingers crossed that James Gunn does Kal-El/Clark Kent justice with Superman: Legacy in 2 years. He’s basing it off of All-Star Superman. I just read that comic last week & it’s honestly a masterpiece full of heart.
He also said the DCU will be taking inspiration from the early 90s - mid 2000s DCAU cartoons, which is a brilliant formula for a live-action cinematic universe. I imagine we could see projects influenced by:
- Superman: The Animated Series
- The Batman/Superman Movie: World’s Finest
- Justice League
- JL Unlimited
I’d like to see iconic stories like The Dark Knight Returns or Kingdom Come get adapted 10 - 15 years from now at the end of the 1st DCU saga when the newer actors are ready to move on.

I haven’t seen Blue Beetle yet. I thought Black Adam was average at best tho. The villain was forgettable. Dr. Fate wasn’t really done accurately. We didn’t feel the consequences of letting Nabu take control, the helmet was more like a power-up. Young Justice executed Fate better tbh. I’m a fan of The Rock, but one big issue is he didn’t bring his A-game to that role.
He’s the most popular but I think he has the least amount of range when it comes to wrestlers-turned-actors. John Cena (Peacemaker) & Batista (Dune/Blade Runner/Glass Onion/GOTG) are honestly so much more versatile. Dwayne just plays himself in every action flick which is disappointing because this was a role he was trying to land forever like Ryan Reynolds with Deadpool except nowhere near as iconic.
Reynolds actually fit Wade Wilson. It sucks seeing a name as big as The Rock being hyped up for so long in a major role like this, only for it to flop. It doesn’t help that he seems to have some sort of ego contract clause that doesn’t allow him to get beat up too much or look weak/vulnerable.
They really should’ve casted someone better suited to the character instead of just going with The Rock because of his name value, a popular fancast, & not much else. That being said, I’m still bummed we didn’t get a proper showdown involving any combination of Black Adam/Superman/Shazam.
