    In today’s episode, we welcome Sanjeev Sanyal on The Ranveer Show. He is an Indian economist, popular historian member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India, and helped prepare six editions of the Economic Survey of India starting in 2017. Sanyal has written several books on Indian history with mixed reviews.
    Today Sanjeev sir talked about India becoming the 5th largest economy in the world, he shared his point of view on India’s growth in the past decade, and he broke down the income brackets of India and how the government manages all of them. He also dwelled upon how the world is getting more decadent with the development of technologies, and how tax evasion affects it.
    Today’s episode was an in-depth look at the Indian Economy and how the Indian Government is looking towards the next few years. If you liked our previous episode with Sanjeev sir, this will be another episode about the Economy, India & more. I hope you enjoyed this conversation and do share your opinions in the comments!

    Many people don't know about western economies being free market capitalist economies. He is actually saying about what made Western countries richer and more prosperous. Western here doesn't just mean Europe or North America . It includes Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand etc which run on this economic model.

    Exactly, P V narasimha rao and Atal Behari Vajpayee saved us and now Narendra Modi is doing it step by step except we lost it from 2004 to 2014 and let's vote back Narendra Modi in 2024 to continue our growth trajectory

    I have been watching bits & pieces of Sanjeev Sanyal's podcasts instead of the full one at one shot. He speaks a lot of sense, has tremendous knowledge, well educated so why not give someone like him a chance to be PM in 2024.

    The vision, motivation, methodology of our present government is superb for efficient and effective economic development, freeing Indians' business and enterprise potential. We'll soon be the second-largest economy in the world and by 2060 probably on par with China.

    I mean India is still poor in 2023. Before 1990,India was at least richer than Vietnam, China,etc. I dont know how many indians are convinced that India become richer when during this time Modi came to power, Bangladesh also surpassed india in GDP per capita.

    Please fix the URBAN LOCAL BODY problems. Proper waste disposal, road funds for pot holes in mohallas , and foot paths for quick nigh stroll or walk to work. Man i am afraid to walk on road because of the outrageous traffic condition in cities. And places that do have footpaths are encroached by some street vendor , homeless tent, or worst car is parked on the foot path.

    Government shouldn't be involved in businesses is not a correct thing
    Government must be involved in businesses but it should be such that it doesn't hampers the innovation and over-all industry itself
    But the reason y i say to get involved is bcs if companies do everything the way they want then there will be a lot of anti competitiveness from the bug giants
    So yes I feel there has to be some sort of control by the government which doesn't hampers the industry overally

    • @saikatsaha4770
      @saikatsaha4770 Рік тому +5

      Will you buy it? The government tried to sell BPCL , but failed as there was no buyer. BPCL is a profit making company still no buyer. Now think of loss making PSUs. It is not sabji mandi, just go and sell things.

      @@saikatsaha4770 Then just shut them down or give the employees ultimatum to make their institute profitable or search for jobs else where. This is 21st century and you are not supposed to pay anyone salary for doing nothing.
      Use that money to establish skill training institutes or turn those institute's infrastructure for something efficient or profit making.

    • @Suhass149
      @Suhass149 Рік тому

      lmao, any entity (Individual or Institution) should be productive to express value, to offload an entity's entire book value without having a buyer will just add another brown field asset to the govt's books. You want to give ultimatum? This is the real world, such moves will easily be used by the opposition to politicise and rally the public sentiment against the government. People complain about having no jobs but rant against people who create jobs just because they have more money and think they are crooks. Moreover, they themselves do not know if they are employable in the first place. Moreover, among all the progress this govt has made, it has failed miserably in regulating three sectors in the economy...real estate, education, medicine and agriculture. Without regulating these, we cannot move forward.
      What do you think the farm laws were all about? The poor nameless farmer lost the benefit of the laws to the rich farmer who controls the cartel ecosystem in the respective states. The SC report clearly states that more than 80% of the farmers wanted the laws to be implemented. This is just another aspect of open market inclusion in a vastly agrarian economy such as ours. Of course, there was no PSU aspect here but the free market logic holds well. Many states are opposing NEP. The reason being that NEP allows you take time to recourse your academic plans. This will not ensure a regular cashflows coming in as fees to many educational institutions owned by sick politicians(BJP underdogs included). You are living in a country where people think govt can print infinite money to fund pensioners in their retirement. You are living in a country where people want free assurances by the govt. It is a miracle we have not gone bankrupt yet. Somehow we even came out of the fragile 5 in the last decade. It could correlate to the current govt's effort to some extent, but there is a lot to be done.
      There is a lot at play when it comes to economics, because here public opinion plays a huge role. Kudos to the m0r0ns in the media houses who simply focus on sensationalising issues instead of educating people. Last year govt leased out many brown field assets to monetise and build infrastructure and even sold some stake in LIC. I hope I need not say how the media+opposition circus clowns politicised it.

      Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra are among the richest states of India. According to PIB data of GDP per capita 2021-22, Gujarat is ahead of ALL south indian states in GDP per capita. Only Karnataka is a close 2nd to Gujarat, and KArnatak too has had multiple BJP governments.

    Ranveer ji, how about a series which explains how to setup a manufacturing business in India - once we have an idea / product in mind, how to go about acquiring the premises, licenses, formalities to import equipment, etc. Assuming finance has already been arranged and we have the product, machinery and supplier already decided.
