Naseeb, a story of destiny and fate, begins with a lottery ticket. A drunken man who cannot pay his tab trades: he decides to sell his ticket to the waiter, Naamdeo (Pran). Namdeo purchases this ticket with his three friends Damu (Amjad Khan), Raghu (Kader Khan) and Jaggi (Jagdish Raj). Using a system of drawing out the highest card to decide who keeps the ticket, Jaggi wins, and the ticket stays with him. When the ticket turns out to be a winner, Damu and Raghu turn on the other two, murdering Jaggi and framing Namdeo, However, Damu takes a photo of Raghu killing Jaggi. Namdeo goes on the run, but Raghu and Damu intervene and throw him over a bridge into a river. Namdeo is presumed dead.
Twenty years later, Damu and Raghu have used their stolen lottery money to build a fabulous hotel and make millions, becoming very successful businessmen. Damu has used a share of his money to send his youngest son, Vicky (Shatrughan Sinha), to school in England. They have even employed Namdeo's oldest son Johnny (Amitabh Bachchan), Vicky's best friend, as a waiter in the hotel. By coincidence (or by fate!) Johnny and Vicky fall in love with the same beautiful singer, Miss Asha (Hema Malini). Julie (Reena Roy) is a childhood friend of Vicky's who is in love with him, but he only sees her as a friend.

One of My favorite movies. All superstars in one Movie. Manmohanji did an amazing job of getting a galaxy of stars together in the song John Jani Janrdhan. I am re watching it now again for the nth time despite watching it so many times on various mediums Like Big Screen ,VCR , TV & now on UA-cam.
Itried to understand the logic of Namdev naming his son Johnny. Perhaps I missed something & the movie has been edited a lot by the time it was available on UA-cam by ULTRA. Initially there might have been some explanation about the same which might have been lost over a period of time. If anyone can throw some light on this it would resolve a great mistery.
Anyways a great movie which was shot on a large scale with locations like London which might have been really expensive at that point of time. Miss thise lavish sets especially of the Villains, they were so lavishly mounted set pieces. The Dons Den , the Glass house & the unique revolving resturant. Really miss that old charm movies.

Very lengthy film like Sholay.but a nice Masala film. Actually for Shatrughan Sinha role producer wanted Rajnikant but Rajni was so busy in South he had to to say No. Then they went for SS. Rajni made his Debut in 1983. With Andhaa Kannon with Amitabh Bachchan.
