    Received mine today and definitely pleased with the quality and the ride is so quiet. Didn’t take to long to set up and to get to grips with the controls on the bars. The long directional controllers on the front can accidentally be triggered by your hands when you push the watts up and grip the bars though. Great piece of kit and competitively priced

    Lowering the Ride onto the trainer was by no means as simple as pictured. The fix was tight, making it difficult to get the rear of the frame over the adapters. The through axle didn't catch the non-drive side threading. It took far to long and quite a bits of messing around before I was able to mount and tighten the through axle. Chain noise is a bit louder then anticipated and chain friction seems to vary through the pedal cycle. ( An additional "issue", I got two steel splinters and had to knock off excess threading scraps before attaching my pedals.) In the end, it leaves me just a bit uneasy about manufacturing standards.

      Have the same problem with the thru axle. How did you fix it?

    • @jamesporter5630
      @jamesporter5630 6 місяців тому +1

      @@Vairesdream-mj6lh No magic sauce. I just kept at it and eventually the through axle grabbed hold of the non-drive side threading. Having placed the Ride, removed the Ride and jiggered around a bit with the spacers maybe it closed the gap between drive and non-drive just enough for the through axle threads to catch. Good luck.

    • @edgebasics
      @edgebasics 6 місяців тому +3

      I had the same issue. It appears the spacing on my dropouts was about 20mm too narrow. I had to essentially bend the rear triangles outwards to fit over the Kickr, which scraped some paint off the inside of the dropouts. Do you think this is a manufacturing defect of some early frames?

    • @jeffvv1040
      @jeffvv1040 5 місяців тому +1

      I had same issue, too. Had to remove the frame and reattach it to the trainer and jiggle the thru-axle multiple times. Pushed the rear triangles as I tightened the thru-axle and eventually the threads finally engaged.

    Hello, has anyone had issues installing the handlebars? I have placed them correctly but can’t tighten them down, there was a loose baseplate, plastic tube and bolt in the bag with the handlebars but can’t figure out how these should sit. Unfortunately no guide online or in the installation book, I’m guessing this bit should some at least partially pre assembled?

    At 00:35 the video says to check the color of the lock ring and if it is black to switch to a silver one. We purchased the Zwift Ride and Kickr Core directly from the Zwift Store and it came with a black lock ring. We did not find a silver lock ring included with the Zwift ride. Does this only apply if the Kickr Core was purchased separately?

    My thru axle wouldn’t thread, but I used one of the silver screws that came in the same pack to thread the non drive side end with it, and now it works. It must be a paint issue.

    You've pretty much skipped the most important part of assembly with the adapters for quick release or thru axle. Have to say trying to assemble this is an absolute joke and should be much better explained!!..if I'd have known it would be this frustrating I wouldn't have bothered buying one and just carried on with my road bike!!

      If your Hub was setup previously for quick release, you will need to swap out for the thru axle adapter that originally came with the Hub.

      @Zwift  3 місяці тому

      Did you purchase the Zwift Ride Frame, or the full Zwift Ride (w/ Kickr)? The full Ride should have everything you need included, however, if you just got the Frame, you will need to locate the adapters that came with your trainer.
      If your trainer was purchased from Zwift, you can reach out to our Support team at www.zwift.com/contact-us, and we'll get that to ya! If not, your trainer manufacturer should be able to help.

      @@__marshie nope, based on their Zwift Ride Quick Guide, it's because of risk of it falling, which is understandable (to avoid a string of legal liability cases). I was mainly wondering if there was some risk of mechanical damage. I suppose depending on your set-up, you could therefore store vertically as long as it's leaning backwards. (Usual caveats apply; do not try this at home, etc.)

    This ended up taking over an hour to assemble. First, the pedal box is marked pedals (at least on the top part you see), but inside of it is the through axle and electrical charging cables with their magnetic holders. Please rename the box pedals and accessories or some such and save others going through the box looking for missing parts. As a funny side note, why have reflectors on pedals for an indoor trainer? (I doubt many will even use flat pedals) I had purchased the bike/kickr core bundle and watched all the setup videos. I did not see the adapters shown during setup. You will need adapter D - Non-drive side and Adapter C - drive side. After I figured this out looking at the picture on the adapter card did sort of show this if you knew it was there to give you a perspective. Putting this in your video as a side note for the bundle would be very nice. Then we get to the handle bars. No amount of force (at least non-hammer wise) was allowing me to put the handle bars on. I finally flipped the handle bars over and in the middle is a guide for the middle channel on the bike. Mine was turned about 3-4 degrees. I had to use a 2.5mm hex key to loosen and straighten it out and while I was at it I used some of my speedplay pedal dry lube on it. After I was able to get the handle bars on with minimal force, but certainly not the just slide in like you see in the video. There isn't a puck (wall outlet) plug for the USB controllers as an FYI. Not a big deal if you are using a laptop, but with the short USB cord provided I hope you have an outlet close or you will need a puck and extension cord/power strip too.

    Should the handlebars be rock solid or have a little bit of movement? I’ve tightened everything up, but the handlebars will move a couple mm depending on which hand (right or left) I press down harder when riding. It feels off. Haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere.

    • @werkdodger

      The handlebars will bend slightly just like your outdoor bicycle when you put force on it. This is normal but there should be no slippage at any of the pressure points.

    The handlebar fitting while mentioned briefly here is a nightmare, this section of the video is utter nonsense, to say the handlebar barely fits or slides into the alloted slot would be an overstatement, almost an hour of minute adjustments and maneuvering at which I was several times about to take a hammer to it. Appalling design issue which given the asking price simply shouldn't occur.

    Well, despite the very true argument about getting locked into the Zwift ecosystem, I caved and bought a Zwift ride for my Direto.... Received it well, easy assembly, nice look, advantage of being able to adjust it in all directions, pairing with the companion app to update the controllers was easy, then came the moment to try the beast.... and that's where it all went wrong - impossible to connect the controllers to the application... Updated the Zwift application on PC, still not working... tested on my iPad Pro, still not working... Well, problems can always happen, but when you see that at this price point you don't even have a support line and have to submit a ticket hoping for a response :-(

      To keep the cost down. A belt drive would need a splittable frame, and the parts (belts, cog, chainring) are more expensive. Also, I don't think you can use a tensioner with a belt (could be wrong on the latter point, though).
