Never had any Montgomery Ward tools but I do appreciate all these tool videos. Hard to believe that Montgomery Ward was once considered so powerful, that the government eventually seized it during a strike in WWII because the government was concerned about the possible impact on delivery of goods during the war.
I remember going there in the late 50's and early 60's it's always sad when a landmark store go's out same as Sears did. Thanks for the history lesson Catus
We Lost our Montgomery Ward Store in Hollywood FL. In 1985. I can still remember it. The building is gone now. The K-Mart Corporation bought that land and called it Builders Square. That's where I met my wife looking for work. From the Atlantic Ocean to the west it was 7 miles in.
Had some of Powr Kraft from the early '90s and but they've, unfortunately, gotten away from me through years,. Thanks the review, brings back loads of memories. Wards had lots a great stuff and tools. Still have a stereo (Panasonic) and baseball glove (McGregor) I go there back in the day.
All I remember about Montgomery Wards that the toys and video games were in the basement. They were one of the few that had Sega Master System games. Master System was GREAT. Penguin Land is a masterpiece puzzle game.
I have a few powr kraft tools and one wrench is this box style. There was no information on the internet about it specifically. Thanks catus for the video!
I remember when the Reno-Sparks Montgomery Wards Stores Closed forever. They had closeout sales for a few months until everything was sold. I bought a few items. The empty building eventually became a LOWES. It is always sad when great stores like Wards and Sears close forever.
Did they make their own tools or are they rebranded. I must have missed that part. I assume they were rebranded like craftsman tools. I have a bluegrass wrench that looks almost identical to those.

I have a set of these. Had em since 1983. Also have a 20ga shotgun that says Montgomery Wards on it
Looks very much like a Thorsen style. Thorsen’s budget line was called Action.
Thorsen also made military contract tools called Giller.

These are made by Thorsen...Same wrenches are available by KAL, and Bluegrass..
I have a set of MontgomeryWard sockets. Workmanship is terrible. From the late '70's.
I had no idea Montgomery Ward was such a horrible company, glad they went under.
