I was raised Orthodox, Albanian Orthodox, traditionally babies are named are on the 8th day of life in a special service either at church or at home. It's for a boy or girl and it's a whole celebration where everyone gets to help name the baby in this ceremony.

Hearing you talk about Bella and the baby makes me want to share that when my mom was pregnant with me, my grandparents' one-year-old dog became VERY protective of her, so I was basically born with a personal guard dog. She wouldn't even let my dad near the bassinet when we visited! Anyway. Please don't apologize for safeguarding your children's privacy online. I wish more parents would!

With our first child, my husband and I decided to make her first name after my paternal grandfather (who died the year after we were married) and her middle name after his maternal grandmother. With our second, we couldn’t find any family names for girls that we both agreed on and it was his turn to choose the first name. He chose one he liked, and I chose a middle name that I liked for its meaning. As it turns out, I later found out that that middle name is actually a family name on my side-who knew?

It’s good that you are protecting your child’s privacy! Kids these days are very badly influenced and also can experience bad things coming at them in regards to their info being online! This one mother shared that her daughters’ middle name would be Parvati to honor her grandmother, but her daughter wasn’t Indian. Her grandmother was Indian. And people were going against her on the forums and stuff because of that. It sucks. She’s trying to *honor* her grandmother. If a baby isn’t of a certain ethnicity but you want to honor a certain relative, you should be able to do so without people name-shaming you. Children also deserve to understand informed consent. Some kids don’t like having their info online until they feel comfortable. Waiting until they are ready is a great choice, and exposes them to the process of giving consent to others from a young age. They need to know what the process of consent for things is like as they grow older.

I so agree with your decision to protect your children on Internet. A lot of people use either A, B, C.
I had triplets and they were baby A, B, C. They are now teenagers and able to navigate the internet in a safe manner.

Good for you for protecting your children 's privacy ! I watch some UA-cam families that have plastered every detail about their kids...every detail !!! It is unfair and many times they are using them to get more views. Shame on them !! Just imagine how the kids will feel when they are old enough to realize, get teased in school etc. Stay firm in your decision !!!!

It’s good that you are protecting your child’s privacy! Kids these days are very badly influenced and also can experience bad things coming at them in regards to their info being online!
This one mother shared that her daughters’ middle name would be Parvati to honor her grandmother, but her daughter wasn’t Indian. Her grandmother was Indian. And people were going against her on the forums and stuff because of that. It sucks. She’s trying to *honor* her grandmother. If a baby isn’t of a certain ethnicity but you want to honor a certain relative, you should be able to do so without people name-shaming you. Children also deserve to understand informed consent. Some kids don’t like having their info online until they feel comfortable. Waiting until they are ready is a great choice, and exposes them to the process of giving consent to others from a young age. They need to know what the process of consent for things is like as they grow older.
