You are as rare as the equipment you have. We need more young people keeping the fine vintage audio alive and well. I only wished I had even one of these fantastic pieces.
Hello Geraldine, Seeing your entire setup reminded me of a pleasant surprise that I received back in 1979. I came home from school and in my room, already set up was a brand new Zenith stereo system. I must e been the only 10 1/2 year old in my neighborhood who was a proud owner of a brand-new HiFi stereo system that an adult would own. My grandmother bought it for me. It was the Zenith IS 4020 receiver with two Zenith Allegro floor-standing (2-way) speakers. It even came with a three-tier stand for the receiver and matching two little stands for the speakers. Somebody on UA-cam actually uploaded a video of this particular receiver. The Zenith IS 4020 receiver had a built-in turntable on top and also a front loading 8-track with the usual AM/FM Tuner that glowed beautifully. The Zenith Allegro 2-way speakers were front-ported each with a tweeter and an 8-inch woofer. Over the next few years I added a cassette deck by SHARP because 8-tracks were already being slowly phased out by 1979/80 and I also added a Panasonic 7-band equalizer and two additional 2-way speakers (same size but they weren't made by Zenith) allowing me to run 4 speakers at the same time. It sounded fantastic. I kept it for 11 years before I replaced it with a Kenwood Spectrum stereo rack system. I bought the flagship model which was called either the Spectrum 790 or 890. That Zenith stereo was fantastic and so was that Kenwood. I miss them both. Your entire setup is totally fantastic! What you are doing with your channel awesome and also very important. The world needs more women out there doing this kind of thing so keep at this because you're very good at it. Ignore all of the people who can't be nice who are clearly insecure. Never let them ever discourage you otherwise you'll give them exactly what they want. Be yourself and you'll be successful. I'm looking forward to your next video.
I'm so impressed with your true vintage collection! We need young people to start doing research into 70-80's HIFi and engage their ears. Please keep your reports coming and enjoying the music.
Not quite, the Hi End is actually better now than it used to be way back when.. The stuff I have would buy a house and guess what it sounds like it would buy a house.. The prices of vintage stuff is going up to silly levels sometimes. It's nice to experiment with, though I've found that I like my more recent speaker a bit better. @@garth56 Lighten up. The point that was being made that during the 70s was quality was more accessible to people. Wow, I can’t believe that you get hate for your speakers. Those are TAD speakers, which was a division of Pioneer. People should take a look at what new speakers from this company cost. Anyway, great system with so many unique and rare pieces!!! Cheers
People have funny prejudices about what certain manufacturers could and couldn't do. Similar to people who think Sony never made good speakers. Just not true. Like Geraldine's speakers, might have been limited run or not have been mass market release, but these companies could knock together high level stuff when they wanted. Brands like Hitachi and Mitsubishi/Diatone also fly under the radar for a lot of people.

@TheBFN Just Google TAD; it's not complicated. They are very good and very collectible speakers. I'm not sure what you consider a good pair of speakers.
Wow awesome speakers! I have the pioneer ST-500s, envy the TZ-7s. They are not well known, and other than being big and heavy, theyre pretty great speakers
I have often gotten manuals from the manufacturers website, just type in that it is a cassette player and the model number and you can download the owners manual. They are usually available about 95% of the time.
thanks for making HiFi more accessible 🥰❤️ I'm also running a vintage setup with value over out-and-out performance. at the end of the day, it sounds great for the room and furniture I'm limited by. it doesn't take much to get a very decent sounding system with a good selection of sources. I think my speakers are the cheapest component after my cables, but they make me smile everytime I listen to them ☺️

Hey! You have such a cool and true vintage setup. Loved your video amd the gear. Never seen the Hitachi CD player and the cassette deck before. Amazing stuff!
Impressive collection of audio gear. Really dig the versatility of your pre-amp. I got the hifi bug in 1975 after military service. Most of my current components are original purchase in l970's/80's. My Hitachi SR-804 receiver has bidirectional dubbing and has a Pioneer RG-2 expander on tape 1 with a Teac X-3 open reel deck on the expander tape loop. Tape 2 has a Sound Shaper Two IC graphic EQ that has bidirectional dubbing on the EQ. Connected cassette decks are Denon DRM-800A and Yamaha KX-260. Switching flexibility is very satisfactory. A Pioneer PL-518 turntable with Shure M95HE pickup on phono and Sony CDP-CE275 CD player on Aux input. Speakers are Ohm model L's in living room and Ohm H's in dining room. Headphones are Koss Pro4X. Thanks for the lucid "walk" through your audio acquisitions, well done.
Wow Geraldine, what a great rig! - I love Heathkit and Mac equipment - I just happened to see your video listed in the sidebar and stopped by to take a look - very nice!
Enjoyed the tour of your vintage system! I liked them all including the Akai reel to reel tape deck. I don't do Tik Tok or Instagram but will look into them.
It's the vinyl renaissance that got me into vintage electronics. I'm drooling now, waiting get get back the Marantz 2230 I managed to get my hands on..... it's being fully restored. I even scored one with the original wood case. Meanwhile, I found a 1974 Pioneer PL-51 turntable, an ADC "Memory 5" equalizer, and some mint Infinity RS 3000 speakers. Now I just hemorrhage money on dozens of re-released LPs from the 70's. Good times!

Youngsters have this very particular way of delivering info - to the point in quick succession. I quite like it. And great gears you have there!
Thanks!
Hey Geraldine, you have a superb collection of vintage audio gear. I love to see this type of video.
Glad you enjoyed! 💫
@@geraldinehifi hi, I am also a UA-camr but very small. Love from India
Wow nice tape deck and laser disc player , you're right those are so rare ! Your speakers are awesome to studio type . Nice set up 😊
I have often gotten manuals from the manufacturers website, just type in that it is a cassette player and the model number and you can download the owners manual. They are usually available about 95% of the time.
Wow... yeah that is a 100% Awesome-tastic setup... Love it!
thanks for making HiFi more accessible 🥰❤️
I'm also running a vintage setup with value over out-and-out performance. at the end of the day, it sounds great for the room and furniture I'm limited by. it doesn't take much to get a very decent sounding system with a good selection of sources. I think my speakers are the cheapest component after my cables, but they make me smile everytime I listen to them ☺️
Great tour of the system! Awesome!
Absolutely wonderful
Great equipment! Thanks for the nice description of each component.
You go girl... that's the stereo system to have. and its worth alot of money too so hold on to it as long as you can!! Good seeing someone young having and enjoying the good stuff they used to make. 😀😀😀😊😊😊😎😎😎 I also subscribed to your channel..
What an impressive setup you have! It must sound amazing!😊
Wonderful. So refreshing and a very nice setup.
Thanks so much! 😊

Yes! Thank you!
Enjoyed the tour of your vintage system! I liked them all including the Akai reel to reel tape deck. I don't do Tik Tok or Instagram but will look into them.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😁
Good times!
Thanks for the tour, Geraldine. You’re well-spoken so it’s a joy to have you teach us. Do you have any vintage “boom boxes”. If so, can you consider a show n tell for those? Thank you. Love vintage stereo stuff…built so beautifully. Thanks 😃
I do have a few! Hope to make a video sometime! 😄
Very nice set up! Mcintosh FTW!
You have an awesome vintage stereo system. Anyone who says Vintage Pioneer speakers are “trash” is an idiot! Those are awesome. Pioneer made some of the Best home stereo speakers for decades, especially in the 70’s & 80’s! Look up how much they go for these days. There’s a reason! So cool to see a young person have a vintage setup like this! You’re enjoying Real sound
@@vincentpedalino618 Hate Kliptsch. Love Pioneer
