  • San Diego, California is a special place. I have some great memories there and great friends. On this abbreviated visit (5 hours), I really enjoyed the arrival and departure to/from the main airport at Lindbergh Field KSAN) flying the Cessna C310. The legacy twin Cessnas are very comfortable mixing in with the big iron. Their flight capabilities allow them to fly the approach and mix gently with commercial traffic. Fly along in this sequence and timing of a general aviation takeoff and departure from San Diego, California.

What more can I say that hasn't already been said. Great video Art. In a prior comment I spoke of my cross country trips from the east coast to attend the Imperial Valley Navion fly-in at KIPL. One year the weather forecast wasn't looking good, so I booked a commercial flight into KSAN, rented a car and drove to KIPL. My flight back was very early on a Monday morning so I booked a motel room close to Lindbergh field and drove back Sunday afternoon. Little did I know, that motel was directly under the approach path to KSAN that evening. Every 5 minutes or so the whole room shook and I didn't think I would get any sleep. Evidently there aren't any arrivals after 10 pm, because the noise stopped, much to my relief. I got to the airport with enough time the next morning to return the car, get though TSA security and make my flight. Until this video, that was the last I saw of San Diego from the air.

Great video…what a trip! I made a similar trip from KSTS (Santa Rosa, CA) back to KSFB (Sanford, FL) mid July in a Sequoia Falco (Single Engine Experimental) I had just purchased. Went north to Oregon, across Idaho, then headed southeast over 11 more states dealing with very high temps and weather the entire trip, especially in the SE into FL. THANK YOU taking us along with you. :-)

Yes, you have experienced the same challenges in GA flying cross country. It is challenging and rewarding. The reward is using the accumulated knowledge and skill to address the issues and seeing plans work out. Congrats to you for taking on the challenge of cross country flying. Thanks for watching.

Good Evening, glad to see you back making videos. I guess you don't have air conditioning in the plane.(towel on the head). Maybe at some point in time. Love the new on screen display. I saw one of your previous videos with your Godson, Loved the part when he gave his father his medals that he had earned. i recently earned my stripes in Law Enforcement, and dedicated it to my father who had recently passed away. Seeing that brought a tear to my eyes. GOD BLESS You and Your Family

Glad that this format is desired. Not a lot of chit chat, just sharing the experience from the pilot perspective. Thanks for watching.
