Stock up on food that don't produce waste that need to be dumped quickly, to minimize times you need to go the public trash. Especially when you live in a city and you share the building with many people. Also imagine you go on holiday for a month and make a list of what you would need to pack. It's easy to forget stuff like medicines, contact lenses, hygienic products, etc. All should have it at homes already

It's rare for anyone to be tested for the virus. The entire country of Japan can only test 1000 people per day. They won't report someone having the virus until they are almost dead from pneumonia.
I think it will be sooner than that. Prepare now.

@Piatequila Their son updated. They were taken to a hospital and told they had the flu AND covid 19. In the middle of the night they were taken to a different hospital. They both now have pneumonia.

When the cruise ship quarantine first started, I thought it was odd to leave them all on the ship, infected/not infected. I wondered if it was done intentionally so that scientists could collect data about how infectious it is and how severe and lethal it could become.

Steps to help prevent coronavirus.
*P3 (EU) or P100 (US) face mask (follow instructions carefully how to wear so no leak) and sealed eye protection.
*Before enter house leave shoes, coat and bags either outside if possible or inside in closed bags very near the front door. If coronavirus known to be in your area also remove top clothes layer and change into new.
*Then also before enter house wipe hands with a 70% alcohol wipe after have finished shoe removal etc, then wipe all mobile devices carefully with a 70% alcohol wipe.
*The shoe removal, hand wiping, phone wiping etc should lower the amount of virus getting into your home.
*When get in house do proper soap hand wash straight away.
*Do not touch your eyes nose and mouth throughout the day.
*At work and at home properly close toilet lids when flushing.
*Start to avoid large crowds, voluntary self-isolation to minimise your contact with others as much as possible.
*No kissing/hugging friends
*No shaking hands
*In workplaces frequently wipe all communal surfaces and door handles with 70% alcohol wipes.
*Use a clean tissue to touch handles when opening and closing doors in workplaces, or other places where people mix. Afterwards bin the tissue.

They are all trying to prevent a panic, while they themselves are probably preparing for the inevitable themselves. They also are probably well aware that you have a high probability of recovery after getting infected the 1st time, if you're healthy, but the 2nd time you catch this virus you won't be so lucky. It's the 2nd occurrence that raises the risk of death on those who initially had healthy bodies and immune systems. In China, it's being reported that individuals who had gotten over and recovered are getting sick a 2nd time. I bet there is no immunity developed after a 1st infection and recovery.
Darren I really wish you were in charge. I'm sure the whole virus thing would be handled perfectly then.
@@RiDankulous I think the only thing I would do is to be honest with the world, and try to get the human race to work together as much as possible. It probably wouldn't work, but, in my opinion, it would serve as an example as to whether or not honesty with the masses would be the better approach to an emergency, rather than individuals that are wealthy and powerful always serving their own interests, and that of the economy. I'm probably foolish and naive, but I'd prefer honesty with the masses, and if it doesn't work, then let the event play out as it may. Either way, there is always police and military forces to try to control things. Even if it requires some draconian measures if things truly collapse, regardless of the system of government that is in place at the time of an emergency... Does that sound like a better approach? I'd love to hear your opinion on what I just shared?

This is the first common sense interview I've seen all month. Mitigation is more important than fake stats and quarantines.
It will be just a matter of time that non-symptomatic carriers spread Covid-19 exponentially. I don't see a sense of urgency in medical facilities due to the fact that positive confirm cases are low in the U.S., this is going to come back and bite us. How many providers do you know are going to take the time to send suspected samples to the CDC for confirmation?

How come no one said anything about how the virus would spread through the ship until now?? If it was so well known, how come the Japanese didn't get that info? Or did they just ignore all help and wanted to do it themselves? So nuts.
The ship was a test, inadvertent or otherwise - great way to find out if it was spread by the ducts in the AC/heating system. Now they know. The people on the ship in charge of sanitation were not medically trained and it was the cruise ship company that 'handled' it, as well as they usually do, which is incompetently; cruise ships are floating petri dishes, anyone who gets on them is an guinea pig.
This was to provide confirmation that it is aerosolised and now the next will be to confirm the reports of reinfection.

2% death rate under optimal medical care, I can’t even imagine with a swamped medical system. Remember, 2% of the world is over 150 million people - who would be gone in less than a few years. It would be the most tragic event since WW2, and the biggest in our lifetimes. I hope I am wrong, but it’s better to be prepared for the worst.
The thing is - it is already out of control and there is nothing which is stopping it!
Have they tracked down those who arrived from China in December? How about those with no fever they let come on in now knowing asymptotic people were contagious?
