I still think MTA could of found a way to just do an in-station accessible transfer even if it was gonna take longer and cost more. This is going to be a major inconvenience during inclement weather

@@1-among-many How much more difficult would it had been to extend the upper mezzanine to the existing lower mezzanine. The investment should of been made. Over time this is going to become a problem. They going to find other loop holes for other ADA projects

@mood4eva98 you would meed to shut down the L line 24/7 for an extended time to rebuild the entire west mezzanine transfer from the line.
It's not politically and monetarily feasible to do such a major rebuild to a station.
This is honestly the most cost effective way without disrupting service to hundreds of thousands of people for a long period of time with little alternative routes.

This is not the only passageway that needs regrading. The one between TSQ and PABT also needs that.

@@mood4eva98This won’t be a problem, and it’s not a loophole. The situation at Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street is a unique one that doesn’t apply to any other station. Besides, Court Square is also a few stops up the line. That’s a decent alternative for a transfer between the G train and services traveling to Manhattan.
The long term solution would be to consolidate the Hewes and Lorimer Street stations on the Jamaica Line and build a new ADA-accessible station at Union Avenue to connect with the Broadway station. That way riders can avoid using Metropolitan Avenue entirely.

Yeah, they need to address this machine, as it charged my card twice when it shouldn't have.

That’s too much, from station to another station by walking to the street to transferring between both lines 😠
