We missed you by a day as we took Windjammer & High Seas out from Upton on the 13th and headed straight up through Potter as is our wont. Your zig-zag is Dungeon Corner with its flukey winds but a great place to moor if the weeds are a bit thick as they were in 2017. Temperature in the 90s so my crew went for a swim in the crystal clear water. Thanks for the video as we were meant to be there today 13th June 2020 & now crying into our grog!
As described here: www.pbo.co.uk/cruising/12-tips-sailing-norfolk-broads-17423 there is some extra wind to be had close to the windward bank. I like to hug the windward bank when it is on the inside of a bend in the river. As you come around the bend the wind will often shift so it is blowing almost straight up the river towards you. By starting on the windward side of the river you are in a better position to go for a long tack to get through the uncertain wind on the bend.
Love it

Is there sometimes an advantage to be gained from sailing close to the windward bank? At 9.06 in the video above, for example?
