    I think Brooksby and Ymer suspension is super harsh. Should be 3-6 months

    • @user-nw3jl4mm6v
      @user-nw3jl4mm6v 8 місяців тому

      It's the same suspension as Victor Troicki got for not doing the test, so, at least, in this case , they've been consistent. But I agree, it's too harsh, because they were not failed in doping control, just missed the test. That's different than for Halep. She actually failed the test.

    • @cgh08443
      @cgh08443 8 місяців тому

      These are the rules that players sign up to, it comes with the territory of being a professional athlete, you get all the good stuff (big prize money, travel the world etc) you also have to do the unpleasant stuff. Missing 3 out of competition tests in a 1 year period is a lot, I actually think it's too generous, I believe 1 missed test unless you can prove it wasn't your fault for missing it should be enough for a suspension of some kind. We need an ultra clean sport and if players are routinely missing drugs tests then we cannot guarantee that's the case.

    • @ntnnot
      @ntnnot 8 місяців тому +2

      No way 3-6 months. Dudes missed THREE tests or chances in a span of 12 months. That's plenty enough for a PROFESSIONAL. Otherwise, you can take doping and put in wrong locations and then just come up with excuses ("My agent forgot to change the location" etc.) and be banned for 3-6 months, when for a doping offense you'd get years (e.g. Halep now, 4 years).

    I agree very much on the Sinner take at 47:00. He reminds me a lot of Djokovic, not necessarily in his skill, but int he way that after every tournament, he comes to the next tournament with something tweaked that improves his game just enough to give him the edge over his opponents. Also, his tennis IQ just seems very high. Honestly long-term I see him having more success than Alcaraz, as long as he continues to improve physically as well.

    Hey Gill, at the risk of looking one step ahead, would you expect the surface and conditions at the Australian Open to be particularly favourable or challenging for Alcaraz? We last saw him compete there in January 2022 (L. to Berrettini) and it goes without saying that an awful lot has happened in Alcaraz’s career since then. Thanks for your content as always 🙏🏻

    Rune definitely needs a mentally oriented coach. He has all the rest. At the same time, who knows whether Becker is the man. Who knows if Rune will ever find a good coach that he can respect. Possibly Rune needs to find a psychoanalyst first and foremost. He (and his mother) seems like a very psychologically immature person, lots to work on. Apart from his mental immaturity he is a unique talent though.

    Totally agree on who is most likely to win a slam next. Sinner and Rune by a mile. Fritz, Tiafoe, and Paul have no chance to ever win a slam. Shelton has a chance but its going to be tough. Zverev and Tsitsipas are already to old to win multiple slams, they may get lucky and win one at some point. Rublev and Ruud don't have the talent to win a slam. Alcaraz, Sinner, and Rune will dominate the slams going forward.

    Raducanu has always been overhyped, she got lucky once in an easy draw. The reason she keeps swapping coaches is becuase she's only in it for her "brand" and I bet the coaches see that but she's trying to hide it behind the "I'm a strong independent woman card" look at some of the recent ad campaigns she's done, then compare her to Iga who just knuckles down and shows us she deserves to be there instead of telling us, it's night and day.
