Hello all you Maiden cool cats...OK, at 4.37 on Invasion,I am riffin' with those accents...but to add. ...isn't it a great vocal from Paul D....OK, back to me at 14.12,,,yours truly' my solo....hitting it dude.,....my tribute to Jimmy Page and Peter Green...shit,what a long time ago this all seems.....and....... what a monster band they became, and still are......thank you Steve and Dave, for some amazing memories...
Really great, I miss this early Maiden versus "reunion Maiden". Line-up here: Paul Di'Anno, Dave Murray, Paul Cairns (not credited), Steve Harris and Doug Sampson. Recorded 30&31 December 1978.
I've read here and there that I fact Dave played both guitars, and that's why Paul Cairns was not credited. Nice the add of Strange World. Up the Irons! 🎸🎵🎶
Fuck yeah man Paul dianno!! When I got into Maiden I was around 10 or 11 and they had 5 albums out then. And I say 5 including Maiden Japan. To us that was a legit Maiden record and we included it with the other 4 albums. Including 2 with Dickinson. NOTB, and POM. So really for me Dianno is Maiden to me just as much if not more than Bruce. Ok sorry I've went on way too long fukk. Sorry. I'm fked up right now. But hey I say Paul Dianno RIP. You were a true talent and true rocker!!! You're still alive with me because I still play your music
The Spacewords demo from 1978 is faster than this. So Iron Maiden had speeded up back then and slowed it down for 1979 before speeding up again for the debut.
Though Maiden says they don't like the production on the debut it's a huge leap from this to the studio album. That and the 79 BBC performance together are definitive.
big fan of Bruce but w out Paul I don't think maiden would have been the iconic legends... Paul brought that NWOBHM combined w old school punk roots. I hate that I sold my original copy of this 7"... market def wasn't the best at time
Di'Anno was way better..the first album is so fucking raw, and I think it's easily their best album, largely because of Paul's voice...Bruce is a great metal singer, of course, but I guess he never smoked and/or drank quite to the level of Paul, or Lemmy for that matter! lol
That part just after 9:00 shows just what the world lost when Di'Anno left the group...does it get any better than that in heavy rock? Lord have mercy!!
I don´t think the world lost annything... If Paul didn´t left the band back then, we wouldn have gotten all the amazing stuff Paul Dianno did solo, like the first two Battlezone albums, and specially Murder One (with his band, Killers) There is some pretty amazing shit in those albums xDxD
I think it's perfect as it is, except for Di'Anno's vocal on SW! Sounds like he was suffering a bad hangover there. BTW - I recognise your name from various IM books, docos, etc... It must have been amazing to see the band back in those early days. All the best to ya!
''Strange world'' always gives me the chills. Rest in peace , you will be missed. Remember tomorrow Paul
0:00 Iron Maiden
3:40 Invasion
6:50 Prowler
11:13 Strange World
They went back to try to buy the original multitrack tape so they could maybe overdub some extra guitars later and the tape had been reused.

Paul Cairns one of the best solos in all categories. You, Sir, are amazing, and we should all be thankful for this solo
Did You ever perform "live" with Iron Maiden ???
Hi Paul, this was recorded in December of 1978 ????
Bless you Dear Sir, thanks for the info - maybe you should be mentioned on the back cover - it's a pity :'( but that's history now
@@attilaevil Yes, but release was november 1979.
Paul's voice is like marmite. You either love it or hate it and I've got to say I'm a lover :)
I dont think anyone's complaining about paul's voice on the early Maiden records lol
Paul's voice is amazing...
And he's an awesome singer.
🤘🍻
This is screaming for a CD reissue!
Or a cassette reissue
So glad they played it faster on the first album!

1978 ??? Really, in December ? Wow ! Seriously ?

yep, on new year's because studio time was much much cheaper than usual . no one had it booked out

This is scary Maiden for me. This is the Maiden I don’t ever want to meet in a dark alley street. Excellent
The best phase of iron maiden was the Paul Dianno era... RIP my dear
R. I. P..
I love Paul DiAnno. Though I love Bruce's work, of course, the first two albums are my favourite. Clive Burr was a beast too. UP THE IRONS

The classic demo
Iron Maiden's gonna get you, no matter how far.
Rip great PAUL
Paul D'iano is synonymous with Iron Maiden, We can check it out in this relic video
The Spacewords demo from 1978 is faster than this. So Iron Maiden had speeded up back then and slowed it down for 1979 before speeding up again for the debut.
Obra invaluable. Todas unas piezas. El solo de inicio Strange World es mítico, magnífico!
that is correct ...I should know..! regARDS PAUL
Paul Cairns that’s awesome! You’re a part of Maiden History dude!! It’s a shame you’re uncredited on this it’s beautiful !
Really liking this version of Prowler! Slower but still great to listen to! !,,/_
I think its superior to the album version
My favorite Maiden song, so I love every version of it.🤘🍻
Though Maiden says they don't like the production on the debut it's a huge leap from this to the studio album. That and the 79 BBC performance together are definitive.
RIP PAUL DI ANNO
IRON WHAT?.. IRON F*CKIN' MAIDEN!! THATS WHAT!!

I love Paul voice better than others quite a pit he gets drunk
amazing maiden early days 🤘
Rip Paul diAnno. 😥
Outstanding
I've always enjoyed the slower tempo of the songs more.

@@BAlvn-yr6ej Yeah, this has a really nasty punk rock feeling that was missing later on.
Seems a little slowed down from later versions...
Einfach gut🎸
Raw as shit! Love it

That great! scream... remembers me robert plant
@@gabrielp9646 battle zone wasn't bad, but they were nowhere near good enough to be not worth trading to get two more.maiden albums with dianno
Iron Maiden e Prowler muito mais pesadas do que no álbum de estreia da banda, uma pena o primeiro álbum ter sido mal produzido.
é tudo a mesma coisa, cara
"Iron Maiden" seems cut off its final seconds
Wonder how it would have sounded if they had been able to finish production on it?

Up the Irons!!!
🤘 🤘
Kiss Zeppelin. And I was 3 years old ...
This is not Doug Sampson on drums?????
@@eddiemuniz761 based on information, including the First Ten Years Listen with Nicko, Doug plays on this.
I know Steve Harris hated the word "punk" but come on!!!!!!
Psh.... punks can barely, are you kidding?
fuck ya !!!!maiden!!!
This is pure punk rock!!!
No
Nope
i wouldnt say *pure* punk, but theres definitly punk influence in here
Not really, very few punks can play this well.... SAD!
Invasion, punk track
Fucking Love Di Anno
Orales es el demo
Bloody stupid studio recorded over the master tape didn’t they?!
Punk!
Really sounds like Descendents with some Bon Jovi but with more progressive touch and more vocal range.
yeah, i'm sure steve harris was a huge fan of the descendents in 1979
Bon Jovi ??? haha there wasn't such thing in 1978-'79
Where the hell are you hearing anything remotely Bon Jovi sounding?
don't you utter the word "punk" when it comes to Maiden you puffs
it has punk elements get over it
@@bookpaper105 Psh, it has something very little punk ever had...talent.
Puffs lol
